JUST IN: Bombshell Report Confirms The Worst About Ilhan Omar

A damning new report confirms a longtime rumor about “Squad” member Ilhan Omar (D-MN), one that opponents have wielded against her since her first campaign for office in 2018.

According to those close to the Democrat, Omar allegedly vowed to “do what she had to do” to get her brother papers authorizing him to live in the country. Conservative critics cried foul, accusing her of marrying Ahmed Elmi in an unlawful bid to game the U.S. citizenship system.

That’s exactly what she did, claims one Somali community leader.

Abdihakim Osman, a former friend of the Squad congresswoman, is the first person to come forward and confirm that it was Rep. Omar’s intention all along to get her brother papers to live in the U.S. Because of the lack of paperwork in war-torn Somalia, no paperwork of their sibling relationship is available, allowing her deception to fly under the radar for two decades.

“She said she needed to get papers for her brother to go to school. We all thought she was just getting papers to allow him to stay in this country,” Osman told the Daily Mail.

In 2002, Omar married Ahmed Hirsi in a Muslim ceremony that went legally unrecognized. The couple split in 2008 but apparently had a child while Omar was married to her brother Elmi in 2009.

“When [Hirsi] and Ilhan got married, a lot of people were invited. It was a big Islamic wedding uniting two large clans in the community,” Osman told the outlet.

He added: “When she married Elmi, no one even knew about it… No one knew there had been a wedding until the media turned up the certificate years later.”

Osman’s revelations are sure to spark renewed focus on Omar’s relationship with her brother. Originally, she dismissed accusations of a false marriage as “baseless, absurd rumors” and accused journalists of Islamophobia if they dared to ask about her marriage to Elmi. More recently, she has stayed quiet and refused to answer further questions.

“The Congresswoman is focused on the work her constituents sent her to Washington to accomplish,” a spokesperson for the congresswoman said to the outlet.

Omar and her first husband, Hirsi, were married in a Muslim ceremony that went unrecognized by the state of Michigan because they did not file paperwork. The couple had their first child while married and a second while she was legally married to Elmi.

By the late 2000s, Elmi, an “effeminate” man, began appearing by her side in the community, Osman confirmed.

“People began noticing that Ilhan and Southside (Hirsi) were often with a very effeminate young guy,” the community leader said through an interpreter. “He was very feminine in the way he dressed — he would wear light lipstick and pink clothes and very, very, short shorts in the summer. People started whispering about him.”

“[Hirsi] and Ilhan both told me it was Ilhan’s brother and he had been living in London but he was mixing with what were seen as bad influences that the family did not like. So they sent him to Minneapolis as ‘rehab,'” Osman added.

In contrast to her first marriage, Omar’s marriage to Elmi was barely made known to their local Somali community.

“When she married Elmi, no one even knew about it,” Osman said. Hirsi, who was well known for his love of soccer, “promoted a lot of Somali shows, he was very popular.”

“So the scandal was about [Hirsi’s] brother-in-law more than Ilhan’s brother,” Osman went on.

The New York Post reported last month that the FBI has launched an investigation into Omar’s marriage to Elmi, with a “trove of documents” reportedly being handed over to agents.

Any findings would be shared with U.S. Customs and Immigration Enforcement. The penalty for falsifying a marriage to skirt immigration laws is up to five years in jail and a $250,000 fine.

After marrying Elmi, Omar and her brother moved to Fargo, where they both attended North Dakota State. The marriage all0wed both of them to qualify for student loans, Osman disclosed.

“She said she needed to get papers for her brother to go to school. We all thought she was just getting papers together to allow him to stay in this country. Once she had the papers they could apply for student loans. They both moved to North Dakota to go to school but she was still married to [Hirsi]. In the Somali way, the only marriage that mattered was the one in the mosque. Ilhan came back to Minneapolis all the time to see her family, but her brother didn’t come with her,” he said.

Despite Omar and Elmi both being Muslim, their wedding was performed by a local Christian priest, someone Osman believes was sought out because Somalian ministers in the Muslim community knew they were siblings.

Omar and Elmi divorced in 2017, shortly before her first campaign for office. She remarried Hirsi the following year.

Osman scoffed at the idea she and Hirsi were ever separated. “They never parted,” he said.

Last year, the Daily Mail reported that Omar apparently had an affair with her chief fundraiser, Tim Mynett, a married father-of-one, and she had moved out of her Minnesota penthouse and filed for divorce from Hirsi. The two separated officially in November, and Mynett divorced his wife the following month.

During Mynett’s divorce proceedings, his ex-wife allegedly attempted to read a statement about his affair with Omar but was cut off by the presiding judge.
