JUST IN: CIA Deployed Agents To DC On J6, Newly-Revealed Documents Show

Documents recently obtained by Judicial Watch have brought to light the involvement of the CIA in the events of January 6, 2021, in Washington, DC. According to these records, the CIA deployed bomb technicians and dog teams as a response to the disturbance at the Capitol.

The records, sourced from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) through a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit, detail the agency’s previously undisclosed role during the day’s tumultuous events.

A series of text messages titled “January 7 Intel Chain” mentions the CIA’s participation, showing the deployment of “two CIA bomb techs” to assist with a pipe bomb scene and “several CIA dog teams on standby.” While the involvement of various federal and city police entities had been noted, the CIA’s role had remained largely behind the scenes until now.

Judicial Watch, the conservative legal advocacy group that obtained the documents, has been at the forefront of investigating the January 6 events. The newly released documents shed light on the chaos of the day, including the initial misreporting of Ashli Babbitt’s shooting and the evacuation of members of Congress to Fort McNair.

Text messages describe the discovery of explosive devices near the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and Republican National Committee (RNC) buildings, attacks on law enforcement officers, and significant property damage. One text chain even discusses the rapid communication of information to the CIA director amidst the unfolding crisis.

Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton stated, “These striking records show that CIA resources were deployed in reaction to the January 6 disturbance.”

The pipe bombs discovered on January 6 near the U.S. Capitol were a significant part of the events surrounding the Capitol riot. These devices were found outside the headquarters of both the RNC and DNC in Washington, D.C. They were identified as viable pipe bombs, meaning they were constructed to function and cause harm, but fortunately, they did not detonate.

The discovery of the bombs led to an immediate investigation by federal authorities, including the FBI. The situation added to the chaos and heightened the level of threat on that day, as law enforcement was already stretched thin responding to the breach of the Capitol building by supporters of then-President Donald Trump.

The presence of the explosive devices indicated a level of premeditation and intent to cause harm beyond the mob’s actions at the Capitol. The individual responsible for placing the bombs has been the subject of an ongoing investigation, with authorities releasing photos and videos in an effort to identify the suspect.

Investigations into the events of January 6 had been conducted by the FBI, the Department of Justice, and a House Select Committee, among others, focusing on the actions of individuals and groups who participated in the breach of the Capitol, the security failures that allowed it to happen.

The investigations have led to numerous arrests and charges ranging from unauthorized entry and vandalism to assault and conspiracy, but no involvement of the CIA had been reported or suggested until now.
