JUST IN: Conservative Political Strategist Suffers Onstage Medical Incident, Is Recovering

Conservative political strategist Alex Bruesewitz is recovering after suffering an alarming medical episode while speaking at the New York Young Republican Club gala on Sunday evening.

Midway through his address, Brusewitz began to slur his speech before stating that he was “forgetting words.” Seconds later, Bruesewitz froze before collapsing onstage. Onlookers and event staff then rushed the stage to assist.

Later on in the event, National Pulse editor-in-chief Raheem Kassam informed attendees that Brusewitz was conscious and in good spirits. “I just wanna let you all know, I went backstage, I talked to our friend Alex Brusewitz, and do you know what he said to me? He goes, ‘did I at least look cool?” Kassam told the crowd, adding that Bruesewitz was recovering backstage.

Popular conservative commentator and activist Jack Posobiec also reported that Bruesewitz was recovering well.

Not long after the incident, President-elect Trump phoned in to check on the veteran political strategist’s condition.

“Dan Scavino is on the stage now and then just stopped to take a call from Trump, which he just put on loudspeaker. Trump appears to have been calling about Bruesewitz,” The Guardian correspondent Hugo Lowell reported in an X post.

Prayers and well wishes for Brusewitz poured in from across the conservative movement in the aftermath of the medical episode. “I’m here at the event. I’m praying my friend, young @alexbruesewitz, who’s just a few days younger than my own son, will make a full recovery,” said former Assistant U.S. Attorney General Jeff Clark. “Please join me in praying for Alex.”

“Just talked to @alexbruesewitz backstage,” wrote Human Events Senior Editor Jack Posobiec. “He is getting checked out by medical after having a brief fainting spell onstage. All levels are normal.”

In a follow-up post, Posobiec added that early indications point to a combination of dehydration and locked legs.
