JUST IN: Delta Air Lines Plane Crash-Lands Upside-Down: ‘Multiple Injured’
A Delta Air Lines flight arriving from Minneapolis crashed at Toronto Pearson International Airport on Monday afternoon, leaving multiple people injured, including a child and two adults in critical condition.
Emergency responders rushed to the scene after the aircraft, identified as Delta Flight 4819, flipped upside down upon landing on a snow-covered runway.
Images and videos from the airport show the plane resting on its roof, an alarming sight at one of Canada’s busiest airports.
Toronto paramedics reported that up to eight people sustained injuries in the crash, though all passengers and crew members have been accounted for. Authorities have not yet provided details on what led to the incident, but an investigation is underway.

Pearson International Airport announced via a social media post that “Emergency teams are responding. All passengers and crew are accounted for.”
Following this, staff at the airport informed CTV News that all arrivals and departures had been temporarily halted. Although the airport’s official statement on this matter wasn’t immediately available, Pearson’s website shows numerous delays affecting both arrivals and departures.
Police are currently at the scene conducting an investigation, and paramedics have set up a staging area adjacent to the runway. According to a spokesperson from Ornge, as reported by CP24, a child with critical injuries is being transported to Toronto’s SickKids hospital.
Joshua McNamara from Ornge also confirmed that a man and a woman, both in their 60s, have sustained critical injuries and are being taken to two different hospitals for treatment.
“The Transportation Safety Board of Canada will be in charge of the investigation and will provide any updates,” the FAA said in a statement.
In recent weeks, a series of aviation accidents have drawn heightened attention to flight safety, with incidents ranging from military aircraft crashes to a devastating midair collision.
On February 12, a U.S. Navy EA-18G Growler, an electronic warfare jet, went down in San Diego Harbor. The two pilots ejected safely before the aircraft plunged into the water near Shelter Island.
On January 29 an American Airlines passenger jet and a U.S. Army Black Hawk helicopter collided in midair over the Potomac River, near Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. All 67 people on board both aircraft were killed.
The string of incidents has prompted calls for closer scrutiny of air traffic protocols and aircraft maintenance standards.
This is a developing story…
