JUST IN: DOJ Fires James Comey’s Daughter, Who Led Epstein-Maxwell Case

Maurene Comey, the daughter of former FBI director James Comey, was fired Wednesday from her job as a prosecutor in the Manhattan U.S. attorney’s office, a Justice Department official confirmed in a statement to Fox News.

Comey most recently worked on the high-profile sex-trafficking and racketeering case against rap mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs. The DOJ failed to secure a conviction on the most serious charges, though Combs was convicted of lesser crimes and remains in custody while awaiting sentencing.

Comey also prosecuted notorious sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein and his partner, Ghislaine Maxwell.

The reason for her firing as senior trial counsel at the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York was not immediately made clear. Comet’s father was previously fired during President Trump’s first term in office over his efforts to launch the bogus Russian collusion investigation.

The firing comes just over a week after the Department of Justice opened an investigation into the elder Comey for allegedly making false statements to Congress and potentially, conspiracy surrounding the bogus hoax. The former FBI director has also come under fire for a recent social media post in which he arranged beach shells reading “86 46,” a message that has been interpreted as a potential call for violence.

Comey has denied that he was calling for violence and recently sat down for an interview with the Secret Service. Additional details on the Russian collusion hoax probe remain scarce as of this report.
