JUST IN: House Judiciary Chair Jim Jordan Fires Back at Manhattan DA Bragg Over Lawsuit

Published

on

On Tuesday, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg filed a lawsuit against House Judiciary Chair Jim Jordan, accusing him of attempting to intimidate and attack his office by launching an investigation into his prosecution of former President Trump.

Jordan fired back on Wednesday, tweeting “First, they indict a president for no crime. Then, they sue to block congressional oversight when we ask questions about the federal funds they say they used to do it.”

Last week Jordan had subpoenaed former prosecutor Mark Pomerantz, who was involved in the Trump investigation, and requested his personal emails.

Bragg’s lawsuit claimed that Congress has no power to supervise state criminal prosecutions and that Republicans are attempting to undermine an active investigation.
