JUST IN: House Judiciary Launches Probe Into Loren Merchan’s Kamala-Linked Firm

On Thursday, the House Judiciary Committee launched a formal investigation into Loren Merchan’s Democrat fundraising firm, Authentic Campaigns. Loren is the daughter of Judge Juan Merchan, who presided over the high-profile criminal trial of former U.S. President Donald Trump, resulting in Trump’s conviction.

Loren’s firm is known for its deep ties to prominent Democratic figures and its strategic involvement in digital campaign tactics. Today’s probe was set into motion with a direct letter to Loren. “The Committee on the Judiciary is conducting oversight of politically motivated prosecutions by state and local officials,” the letter read.

The committee also detailed the complex backdrop of Bragg’s legal actions against Trump, which used “a convoluted and novel legal theory” to indict the former president on charges that federal officials had previously declined to pursue.

“Experts have raised substantial concerns with Judge Merchan, your father, refusing to recuse himself from President Trump’s case despite your work on behalf of President Trump’s political adversaries,” the letter continued. Since 2019, Loren has been a pivotal figure in Democratic campaigns, notably serving as the director of digital persuasion for then-presidential candidate Kamala Harris, while also holding a vice presidency at Authentic Campaigns.

Following Kamala Harris’s withdrawal from the primary race, Loren was then promoted to president of the firm at the time, which later played a significant role in the Biden-Harris campaign of 2020. The firm’s innovative strategies included a heavy emphasis on digital paid media and AI-driven voter engagement, tailored to reach swing-state voters amid pandemic-induced restrictions.

According to the Judiciary Committee’s letter, public records reveal that the Biden-Harris campaign paid Authentic Campaigns over $2 million for its services within just one month. “Your firm’s tactics to ‘harness the potential of conversation AI for presidential campaign marketing’ has been both noted and scrutinized in light of recent events,” the letter wrote.

The probe also sheds light on substantial fundraising activities linked to the indictment of Trump. It notes that Authentic Campaigns’ top clients, including Representative Adam Schiff (D-CA) and the Senate Majority PAC, have collectively raised over $93 million in campaign donations, leveraging the narrative of Trump’s indictment. Schiff’s campaign alone has garnered $20 million in support since the indictment, with the Senate Majority PAC accumulating an impressive $73.6 million.

Earlier on Thursday, former President Trump requested that Judge Merchan recuse himself from the Manhattan criminal trial. The 2024 GOP nominee alleges that Merchan has connections to Harris, which he claims biased her judgment. According to Trump’s legal team, the judge’s daughter has a professional relationship with Harris, who is gearing up to run for president as the Democrat nominee. They argue that her involvement in Democratic political campaigns could pose a conflict of interest.

The House Judiciary’s inquiry into Authentic Campaigns aims to uncover the extent to which political and personal connections may have influenced judicial actions and campaign strategies. As the Committee stated, “At a minimum, there is a perception that you and Authentic Campaigns could profit considerably from President Trump’s prosecution in a forum overseen by your father.”

Trump recently threw a Hail Mary, urging Merchan to toss out his conviction claiming the recent U.S. Supreme Court ruling shields him with broad immunity for any actions taken during his time in the Oval Office.
