JUST IN: Karoline Leavitt Hints At ‘Horrible’ Discovery Made By DOGE: ‘I Can Confirm’
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed Tuesday that a “massive discovery” has been made by President Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE)—and while the details remain classified, she emphasized that the American people will learn more “very soon.”
“There has been a discovery,” Leavitt said when pressed for answers. “I hate to leave you hanging on a clip, but I don’t want to get ahead of the president on that.”
“But I can confirm there has been a discovery. It’s just not to get ahead of the president on that. But I can confirm there has been a discovery. It’s just not quite yet ready for release,” she finished.
Her comments come just days after President Trump himself teased what he described as a “horrible” and “incredible” finding by DOGE—an agency created earlier this year to root out waste, fraud, and abuse in the federal government. The president, speaking aboard Air Force One last Friday, warned that the discovery would be made public soon and said it would add to the already “stunning” series of revelations uncovered since DOGE’s launch.

“They found something today that’s horrible,” Trump said. “It’s horrible. You’ll find out very soon.”
The cryptic announcement immediately ignited online speculation, with some wondering whether the latest DOGE bombshell could rival earlier discoveries—such as the exposed $75 million contract for federal website satisfaction surveys, or the improper assignment of Social Security numbers that allegedly enabled “thousands” of non-citizens to cast ballots in the 2024 election.
According to internal reports, DOGE has uncovered “hundreds of millions of dollars” in government waste since its inception—thanks in large part to the involvement of billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk, who currently serves in a special advisory role. While Trump confirmed Musk still intends to return to full-time leadership of Tesla and SpaceX eventually, he offered no indication that his exit from DOGE is imminent.

“Elon is fantastic, and he’s a patriot,” Trump said. “I think it’s a shame what they’re doing with his car company. As long as he likes it, he can stay. I like smart people, and he’s a smart person.”
DOGE has faced criticism from Democrats, with many accusing the agency of politically motivated investigations. Still, polling suggests a majority of Americans support its mission to clean up federal bloat.
That mission has so far led to the termination of multi-million-dollar contracts, exposure of bureaucratic excess, and revelations about deeply flawed processes—such as the National Parks Service survey Musk described as costing over $1 billion without a defined purpose.
“There appeared to be no feedback loop for what would be done with that survey,” Musk explained in a recent interview. “So the survey would just go into nothing.”
A March 19 DOGE post on X (formerly Twitter) revealed that a planned $830 million expansion of similar survey programs had been halted following internal review.
While the latest “horrible” discovery remains under wraps, insiders believe it could have significant political implications—especially as the Trump administration ramps up efforts to tighten oversight across multiple agencies.
For now, Leavitt and the president are keeping the details close to the chest.
