Sam Brinton, the activist initially chosen by Joe Biden for a significant nuclear role but later dismissed due to his recurring theft of women’s clothing from airports, has been apprehended as a “fugitive from justice.”
The Daily Wire obtained information that Montgomery County, Maryland police arrested Brinton at his residence on Wednesday. Presently, he is incarcerated and being held without bail.
A neighbor informed The Daily Wire that four officers arrived the previous night, preventing Brinton’s spouse, Kevin, from leaving. Following approximately an hour, Brinton was escorted out in handcuffs. On Thursday afternoon, Brinton is scheduled to appear for a hearing presided over by Judge Victor Del Pino.
A fugitive from justice is usually a person who is evading arrest or attempting to avoid facing legal proceedings for alleged criminal activities. It also implies that Brinton was attempting to escape the legal consequences of his actions by eluding capture and refusing to appear in court.

In December Brinton left his position following multiple theft charges. Brinton was accused of stealing thousands of dollars worth of luggage from two airports, resulting in felony theft charges. He was placed on leave from the Department of Energy and was scheduled to appear in court on December 19th, facing a potential prison sentence of up to five years if found guilty.
In 2022, The Department of Energy confirmed that Brinton was no longer an employee but did not disclose whether he was fired or resigned. Several GOP lawmakers, including Marjorie Taylor Greene, Andy Biggs, and Louie Gohmert, called for Brinton’s removal, citing the violation of laws and concerns about the Biden Administration’s appointment priorities. Brinton’s departure fulfilled the lawmakers’ wishes and exposed him to the possibility of a significant prison term.
