JUST IN: Mike Lindell Reveals Decision On Run For RNC Chair
As conflicting reports continue to swirl surrounding the tenure of RNC Chair Ronna McDaniel, MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell shot down reports that he will be seeking the job if McDaniel does indeed step down.
During an appearance on War Room earlier this week, Lindell told host Steve Bannon that he would consider seeking the position should it become available. “Would you volunteer to take over the RNC if the president so asked you?” Bannon asked.
“100 percent I would. Then I would have all the tools I need to fix secure these elections and immediately we’ve already got everything in place. We just need resources and, and their blessing behind us. Absolutely,” Lindell replied. The MyPillow CEO previously ran for the position in 2023, ultimately receiving four votes.
In a follow-up statement to Newsweek, however, Lindell stated that he is not interested in launching another bid for RNC chair.
“I am not running as I have to finish my efforts to get this country to paper ballots hand counted!” Lindell told the outlet. “The RNC should pick anyone that the election platforms are their main focus! Julianne Murray (chairwoman of Delaware) would be the best pick for the RNC chair.”
Reports emerged earlier this week that McDaniel would be stepping down after months of pressure. Critics have pointed to lackluster electoral results, fundraising woes and poor financial management in calling for a change.
Former President Donald Trump has also weighed in on McDaniel’s tenure, telling Fox News that “changes” could be expected at the RNC after the upcoming South Carolina primary.
McDaniel, for her part, has pushed back on rumors that she will definitively be stepping down, telling reporters that an official decision will not be made before South Carolina.
