JUST IN: Staggering Data Gives Democrats Brutal Outlook In Must-Win Swing State
Democrats are facing a grim reality in Pennsylvania as new data shows a steep decline in mail-in ballot requests, potentially jeopardizing Kamala Harris’s chances in this critical state. Compared to 2020, the Democrats are reportedly down by a staggering 303,016 mail-in requests, while Republicans are only down by 55,033 requests.
This comes at a crucial time for former President Donald Trump, who is set to make his return to the campaign trail in Flint, Michigan, following the recent assassination attempt at his golf club in West Palm Beach. Trump’s surge in Pennsylvania could be the game-changer for his campaign, especially considering he lost the state by only 80,000 votes in 2020.
The numbers paint a brutal contrast: at this point in 2020, Democrats had 1,101,962 mail-in ballot requests, compared to 798,946 in 2024. Republicans, on the other hand, had 376,956 requests in 2020, and now stand at 321,077. The numbers reflect a growing momentum for Trump in a state he needs to win. Cliff Maloney, a GOP figure, wrote on X the importance of this shift, stating that the decline in Democratic mail-in requests could be “suicidal for Kamala.”

The data is clear: if the Democrats can’t turn the tide, they may find themselves in deep trouble in one of the nation’s most crucial battleground states. Both campaigns have been pouring extensive resources into Pennsylvania, recognizing its critical role in the election. Each candidate is ramping up its staff in the state, funneling in significant funds, and saturating the airwaves with relentless advertising.
In the last two presidential elections, Pennsylvania played a pivotal role as a swing state. In 2016, Donald Trump won Pennsylvania by a slim margin, securing the state’s 20 electoral votes with approximately 44,000 more votes than Hillary Clinton. This victory was crucial in propelling Trump to the White House. However, in 2020, Joe Biden flipped the state back to blue, defeating Trump by around 80,000 votes.
Trump’s campaign has also been energized by his resilience in the face of personal adversity. In July, during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, Trump survived a shocking assassination attempt when he was shot at by an assailant. Despite the near-death experience, Trump pressed on, returning to the RNC just days after the incident, which solidified his support among his base.
On top of that, Trump’s messaging about the economy and crime resonates with many Pennsylvania voters who have grown disillusioned with the current administration. Economic challenges, inflation, and concerns about public safety have put Democrats on the defensive, while Trump’s promises to restore law and order and revive the economy are gaining traction. Additionally, his continued focus on energy policies, particularly around coal and fracking, aligns with the interests of Pennsylvania’s energy sector, a vital part of the state’s economy. With Republicans gaining ground and Democrats struggling to maintain their 2020 turnout, the outlook for Harris and her party in Pennsylvania looks increasingly dire as Election Day approaches.
