JUST IN: Savannah Guthrie Breaks Silence After Bombshell Developments Emerge
Federal authorities have released new surveillance imagery showing a masked individual investigators describe as a subject of interest entering the Tucson, Arizona, home of Nancy Guthrie in the early morning hours of Sunday, Feb. 1, marking a major development in the high-profile disappearance.
The images build on previously released video that showed an unidentified person approaching Guthrie’s residence with his head lowered, appearing to avoid the camera as he moved toward the front of the home. Investigators believe the footage captures activity during the narrow overnight window when Guthrie is believed to have vanished.
In a statement posted Tuesday on X, FBI Director Kash Patel said the evidence was recovered after days of intensive technical work involving federal agents, local authorities and private-sector partners.
“Over the last eight days, the FBI and Pima County Sheriff’s Department have been working closely with our private sector partners to continue to recover any images or video footage from Nancy Guthrie’s home that may have been lost, corrupted, or inaccessible due to a variety of factors – including the removal of recording devices. The video was recovered from residual data located in backend systems,” Patel said.
Patel said investigators also uncovered additional images that appear to show the individual tampering with a security camera at the front door.

“Working with our partners – as of this morning, law enforcement has uncovered these previously inaccessible new images showing an armed individual appearing to have tampered with the camera at Nancy Guthrie‘s front door the morning of her disappearance.”
Authorities have not publicly identified the individual or confirmed whether the person entered or exited the home after interfering with the camera. Investigators also have not said how they determined the person may have been armed. Officials continue to analyze the footage as they work to reconstruct the sequence of events inside and outside the residence.
The release of the images comes amid ongoing concerns about missing or disabled security devices at the home. Investigators previously said a doorbell camera disconnected during the critical time period, leaving gaps in the original timeline.
NBC “Today” show co-host Savannah Guthrie amplified the FBI’s request for public help by sharing the newly released footage on social media and appealing directly to viewers to assist investigators.

Anyone with information related to the footage or the disappearance is urged to contact the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI (1-800-225-5324) or the Pima County Sheriff’s Department at 520-351-4900.
Guthrie, 84, disappeared from her home overnight, sparking a multi-agency investigation that now includes the FBI. Officials say the case remains active as investigators pursue new leads generated by the recovered surveillance data.
