JUST IN: ‘The View’ Goes On ‘Hiatus’ As Fans Fear Cancelation Is Imminent
Viewers of the daytime talk show “The View” were stunned on Thursday when liberal co-host Joy Behar accidentally revealed that ABC will be placing the program on an indefinite hiatus.
News of the show’s pause was almost too good to believe for conservatives who have frequently held up viral clips of “The View” to demonstrate how out of touch major networks had become with everyday Americans. Anti-Trump rants by most of its five co-hosts were a common occurrence in the lead-up to the election.
A more somber tone purveyed the set on Thursday as Behar asked her colleagues if she was allowed to share the unfortunate news.
“Before we go, uh, on hiatus… am I allowed to say that?” she asked.
“Too late now!” joked Alyssa Farah Griffin as the audience laughed.
“Before we go, I want to tell people that the tide is turning. The tide is turning, and things are changing,” she said, looking down at her notes.
“I mean, the ultimate irony would be that Rupert Murdoch will take him down. Uh, Fox News, who created the monster, will take him down,” she continued, referencing Trump’s suit against Murdoch for last week’s Wall Street Journal story about Jeffrey Epstein.

News of the show’s hiatus comes less than a day after the White House warned that “The View” might be “next” amid the cancellation of Stephen Colbert’s late-night show and eight-figure settlements by ABC News and Paramount to end defamation suits brought by Trump.
During Wednesday’s show, the hosts reacted to news that the U.S. Justice Department is exploring charges against former President Barack Obama for his alleged involvement in orchestrating the 2016 Russiagate hoax.
“First of all, who tried to overthrow the government on Jan. 6?” Behar said. “Who was that again? That was not Obama.”
“The thing about him is he’s so jealous of Obama, because Obama is everything that he is not: Trim, smart, handsome, happily married, and can sing Al Green’s song ‘Let’s Stay Together’ better than Al Green. And Trump cannot stand it. It’s driving him crazy. Green is not a good color.”
White House spokesperson Taylor Rogers responded, telling Fox News that Behar and her coterie may be “pulled off-air” if they didn’t cut out the anti-Trump talking points.
“Joy Behar is an irrelevant loser suffering from a severe case of Trump Derangement Syndrome. It’s no surprise that ‘The View’s’ ratings hit an all-time low last year. She should self-reflect on her own jealousy of President Trump’s historic popularity before her show is the next to be pulled off-air,” Rogers said, per the NY Post.
A spokesman for the show told Entertainment Weekly that “The View” “is up in total viewers and women 18-49, versus the comparable weeks last season, to its most-watched in four years” and that “season to date, ‘The View’ is ranking No. 1 in households and total viewers among all network daytime talk shows and news programs for the fifth straight season.”
