The daughter of actor Tommy Lee Jones was found dead inside a luxury San Francisco hotel on New Year’s Day, authorities confirmed, as new details emerged about the circumstances surrounding her death.

Victoria Jones, 34, was discovered inside the Fairmont hotel on Mason Street early Thursday morning, according to reports. San Francisco police said officers were dispatched to the hotel around 3:14 a.m. following a report of a deceased person.

“At the scene, officers met with medics, who declared the adult female deceased. The Medical Examiner arrived on scene and conducted an investigation,” the San Francisco Police Department said in an email.

Police did not publicly identify the woman, but TMZ reported that the deceased was Jones’ daughter. The Medical Examiner is still working to determine the cause of death.

According to the Daily Mail, a hotel guest found Victoria Jones unresponsive on the 14th floor and initially believed she had passed out from drinking. Hotel staff attempted CPR and called an ambulance, but paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene.

A source told the outlet there were no signs of foul play, no drug paraphernalia found and no indication her death was a suicide. It remains unclear whether Jones was a guest at the hotel or how she ended up on the 14th floor.

Victoria Jones followed her father into acting and appeared in films including “Men in Black II” and “The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada,” as well as the television series “One Tree Hill,” according to IMDb. She also appeared on screen alongside her father when she was younger.

She was the daughter of the “No Country for Old Men” star and his first wife, Kimberlea Cloughley.

In recent years, Jones had several run-ins with law enforcement. Court records show she was arrested in April in Napa County on suspicion of obstructing a peace officer, being under the influence of a controlled substance and possession of a narcotic. In May, she was arrested in Santa Cruz County, and in June she was taken into custody again in Napa County on domestic battery and domestic violence or elder abuse charges. She pleaded not guilty in the Napa County cases and was later released on bail.

The Fairmont, a historic luxury hotel in San Francisco’s Nob Hill neighborhood, has not commented on the incident. Authorities said the investigation remains ongoing.
