JUST IN: Trump Announces Midterm Plan That Could Doom Dems’ Chances of Taking Congress
In a lengthy post on Truth Social, President Donald Trump announced plans to lead a movement to eliminate mail-in voting and voting machines from U.S. elections.
The president wrote, “I am going to lead a movement to get rid of MAIL-IN BALLOTS,” and “Seriously Controversial VOTING MACHINES.” He also stated he will sign an executive order on this issue before the 2026 midterm elections.
“Remember, the States are merely an ‘agent’ for the Federal Government in counting and tabulating the votes. They must do what the Federal Government, as represented by the President of the United States, tells them, FOR THE GOOD OF OUR COUNTRY, to do,” he explained in the post.
President Trump then said that it’s necessary to stop using mail-in ballots for the sake of election integrity, ensuring that election results aren’t tampered with and the voice of the people is heard loud and clear.
“ELECTIONS CAN NEVER BE HONEST WITH MAIL IN BALLOTS/VOTING, and everybody, IN PARTICULAR THE DEMOCRATS, KNOWS THIS. I, AND THE REPUBLICAN PARTY, WILL FIGHT LIKE HELL TO BRING HONESTY AND INTEGRITY BACK TO OUR ELECTIONS. THE MAIL-IN BALLOT HOAX, USING VOTING MACHINES THAT ARE A COMPLETE AND TOTAL DISASTER, MUST END, NOW!!!” he proclaimed.
“REMEMBER, WITHOUT FAIR AND HONEST ELECTIONS, AND STRONG AND POWERFUL BORDERS, YOU DON’T HAVE EVEN A SEMBLANCE OF A COUNTRY. THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER!!!” Trump continued.
The president has a strong ally for support on the issue of election integrity in Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA).
“I strongly support President Trump in ending mail in voting!! Elections have been stolen for decades with this practice that is ripe for fraud. Save America by saving our elections!!!” Greene stated in a post published on X.
During the 2024 presidential election, almost a third of the votes cast were done so by mail, according to The Hill, which culled its data from a report done by the U.S. Election Assistance Commission in June.
This figure is significantly higher than pre-pandemic levels. However, it falls well short of the 43 percent that was seen during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, which kicked off in 2020.
In June, a judge struck down an executive order signed by the president in March that would have prevented states from counting mail-in ballots postmarked by Election Day but arrived later. The judge explained that Trump lacked the legal authority to impose election rules on states.
