JUST IN: Trump Announces More Pardons For Persecuted Conservatives
President Donald Trump will soon pardon several pro-life activists imprisoned under the Biden administration’s Justice Department. The announcement comes on the eve of the 52nd annual March for Life in Washington, D.C., a major pro-life rally expected to draw tens of thousands of supporters.
The former president is slated to address the rally via a pre-recorded video message. Trump’s latest decision follows his sweeping executive order earlier this week, which granted full pardons to roughly 1,500 individuals convicted in connection to the January 6 Capitol breach.
The move fulfilled a key campaign promise and reignited hope among pro-life advocates that similar action would be taken for those prosecuted under the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act.
Sources close to the matter revealed to The Daily Wire that the pardons are set to be issued within days, addressing what Trump’s allies describe as the unjust persecution of individuals standing for the sanctity of life. The list of activists expected to receive pardons includes:
- Lauren Handy (57 months in prison)
- John Hinshaw (21 months)
- Jonathan Darnell (34 months)
- Herb Geraghty (27 months)
- Jean Marshall (24 months)
- Joan Bell (27 months)
- Paulette Harlow (24 months)
- Bevelyn Williams (41 months)
- Heather Idoni (24 months)
- Calvin Zastro (6 months)
Trump’s allies argue that these individuals were unfairly targeted by the Biden administration for peacefully protesting abortion facilities, while violent left-wing demonstrators have faced minimal repercussions.
During his 2024 presidential campaign, Trump outlined plans to review and possibly pardon certain individuals. Specifically, in September 2023, Trump condemned the conviction of five pro-life activists in Washington, D.C., saying he would “rapidly review the cases of every political prisoner who’s been unjustly persecuted by the Biden administration… so that I can study the situation very quickly and sign their pardons or commutations on Day 1.”
After his inauguration, the Thomas More Society, a legal organization, officially requested President Trump to provide full and unconditional pardons to 21 pro-life activists convicted under the FACE Act. The group includes grandparents, pastors, a Holocaust survivor, and a Catholic priest. Many of them received multi-year prison sentences for their involvement in non-violent demonstrations at abortion clinics.
On his first day back in office, President Trump issued pardons to over 1,500 individuals convicted for their involvement in the Capitol breach. The sweeping action included members of extremist groups such as the Proud Boys and the Oath Keepers. In an interview with Sean Hannity, Trump defended the pardons, describing the events of January 6 as “very minor incidents” and insisting that the individuals were protesting a “rigged” election. He criticized the legal actions taken against them as excessively harsh.
Trump also granted a full and unconditional pardon to Ross Ulbricht, the founder of the darknet market website Silk Road, who had been serving a life sentence since 2015.
As Trump continues his bid to reclaim the White House, his actions reaffirm his status as the most pro-life president in history, a sentiment echoed by many within the movement.
