JUST IN: Trump Set To Make ‘Special Announcement’ From Oval Office

President Trump is scheduled to make an announcement from the Oval Office at 2 pm Eastern Time on Monday, September 28, according to the official daily guidance and press schedule released by the White House Office of Communications on Sunday night.

The schedule lists the event as “THE PRESIDENT makes an Announcement” in the Oval Office, open to the White House Press Pool. No subject matter was provided in the guidance. Earlier items on the same day’s calendar include executive time at 8 am, policy meetings at 11 am, 12:30 pm, and 1 pm, followed by a print interview at 3:30 pm after the announcement.

Trump spent Sunday at the President’s Cup in Medinah, Illinois, then returned to Washington. After arriving, he spoke briefly with reporters on the tarmac and noted that he was scheduled for a 10 pm dinner meeting with Anthropic founder Dario Amodei.

“So that’s a long day, right?! We leave early in the morning, and now I have a dinner with Anthropic,” the president said. He further noted that he held lengthy discussions with Chinese President Xi Jinping and a number of additional American tech leaders earlier in the week.

The White House has not released any information on the scheduled announcement as of this report. The 2 p.m. Oval Office slot has been used on prior occasions during the current administration for policy announcements, including healthcare-related events. In those cases the White House similarly listed the time and location in advance while withholding details until the event itself.
