JUST IN: White House Counsel Bails On Biden As Oversight Closes In On Bribery Scheme

The White House has announced the departure of its top lawyer, Stuart Delery, who will be leaving next month after nearly three years of service under President Biden, as House Republicans hone in on the former veep’s alleged bribery scheme. Delery initially joined Biden’s transition team in November 2020 and later served as deputy counsel. He was promoted to the top position in 2022, succeeding Dana Remus.

Joe Biden expressed his gratitude for Delery’s contributions, stating, “Stuart Delery has been a trusted adviser and a constant source of innovative legal thinking since Day One of my Administration.”

“From his work during those early days of COVID-19 and efforts to get life-saving vaccines to the American public to the implementation of major legislative accomplishments such as the American Rescue Plan, the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, and the Inflation Reduction Act, he has been an integral part of my team and will be missed throughout the Administration,” Biden’s statement read.

The departure of Delery coincides with a request from White House Chief of Staff Jeff Zients, who has asked senior officials and Cabinet members to decide by the end of the summer if they intend to retain their positions through 2024 and the upcoming election cycle.

An anonymous White House official, not permitted to speak publicly, stated that Delery’s exit had been in the works for a while, according to the Associated Press.

The move comes as Republicans are intensifying their investigations into Biden and his family’s bribery schemes. Among the issues under scrutiny are the business dealings of Hunter Biden, and the role that the then-Vice President had in said dealings. Some GOP lawmakers have even advocated for the impeachment of Joe Biden.

Last week, GOP Representative Greg Steube (R-FL) called for his impeachment, stating it is Congress’ “obligation” to take action when faced with evidence of crimes committed by the President during his tenure as Vice President.

Attorney General Merrick Garland has designated a special counsel to investigate the presence of classified papers found in Biden’s possession at two distinct sites: his Delaware home and his previous Washington, D.C. office.

According to IRS whistleblowers, charges against Hunter were mysteriously dropped by Weiss even after he approved them.

Earlier today, House Oversight Chair James Comer (R-KY) urged the National Archives (NARA) to release unredacted documents. These documents pertain to communications where then Vice President Joe Biden used a pseudonym with Hunter Biden, Eric Schwerin, or Devon Archer copied, as well as drafts for his 2015 Ukrainian parliamentary address.

The Oversight Committee observed that evidence of a call between then Vice President Biden and Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko was sent to a Robert L. Peters. Mr. ‘Peters’ has been identified as a pseudonym for Joe Biden by the committee.

Kilmeny Duchardt, Newsmax’s Congressional Correspondent, commented about this development, saying, “We have talked about the bank records, the payments that Hunter Biden received from foreign nationals, we have talked about the…testimony that the committee obtained revealing that then Vice President Joe Biden met with individuals that his son did business with. This is the committee’s latest efforts to fill in the blanks here on if there was any policy or influence exchanged or promised as part of these deals.”

Newsmax further reported that the House Oversight Committee “specifically, [were] requesting special access to emails related to Hunter Biden, Burisma and Ukraine.”

The Oversight Committee wrote in a more succinct fashion that “[i]f there was any overlap between Joe Biden’s official VP duties and his son’s activities in Ukraine, Americans deserve to know.”

Chairman Comer wrote in a statement:

“Joe Biden has stated there was ‘an absolute wall’ between his family’s foreign business schemes and his duties as vice president, but evidence reveals that access was wide open for his family’s influence peddling…We already have evidence of then-Vice President Biden speaking, dining, and having coffee with his son’s foreign business associates … We also know that Hunter Biden and his associates were informed of then-Vice President Biden’s official government duties in countries where they had a financial interest. The National Archives must provide these unredacted records to further our investigation into the Biden family’s corruption.”

Miranda Devine, a writer for the New York Post, complemented Representative Comer by writing, “James Comer is relentless.” She also revealed that “Comer was about to go to court to get all Joe and Hunter’s personal bank records when AG Garland pulled the Special Counsel trick. He’s still going.”
