Liberals Attempt To Cancel NFL Legend Over Fourth of July Post
Liberals angry with the passage of President Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill bombarded an NFL legend with hostile comments over a celebratory Fourth of July post on Friday. A number of prominent Democrats, including Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Barack Obama, marked the nation’s Independence Day with gloomy, politicized messages.
“This Fourth of July, I am taking a moment to reflect. Things are hard right now. They are probably going to get worse before they get better,” Harris posted on social media alongside a photo of herself and her husband, Doug Emhoff. “But I love our country — and when you love something, you fight for it. Together, we will continue to fight for the ideals of our nation.”
Social media sleuths were quick to note that Harris cropped former President Joe Biden and former First Lady Jill Biden out of the White House photo. All in all, the post was largely met with mockery, however. “I’m taking a moment to reflect on how much worse things would have been if you’d won,” said Baylon Bee editor Seth Dillon.
Like Harris, former President Obama also turned his Fourth of July message into an anti-Trump screed. “Independence Day is a reminder that America is not the project of any one person. The single most powerful word in our democracy is the word ‘We.’ ‘We The People.’ ‘We Shall Overcome.’ ‘Yes We Can,'” Obama, who infamously vowed to “fundamentally change” America before he was elected, wrote.
“America is owned by no one. It belongs to all citizens. And at this moment in history—when core democratic principles seem to be continuously under attack, when too many people around the world have become cynical and disengaged—now is precisely the time to ask ourselves tough questions about how we can build our democracies and make them work in meaningful and practical ways for ordinary people.”
Outside the political sphere, the most striking display of left-wing disgust for America came in response to a post from Philadelphia Eagles legend Jason Kelce. “Man I love the 4th! One of the great days we all can set aside our differences in this country, and enjoy the one thing we all share in common. That we are American! Cheers to you oh beautiful America,” the ex-Philadelphia Eagles center wrote in an Instagram post Friday along with a video of a fireworks display.
“Set aside differences??” wrote one top commenter. “One party wants to feed children. The other wants to feed brown people to alligators.”
“Oof! Being supremely disappointed by a Kelce today was not on my bingo card,” another posted. “Love u bud but this is so out of touch, i beg you please read the room rn. so many are suffering,” added another Instagram user.
The bizarre display comes just days after a shocking from Gallup measured Democratic Party pride in America at near record lows. According to the survey, just 36 percent of Democrat respondents said they were “proud to be an American.”
