Kari Lake Gets Massive Campaign Update

Published

on

Arizona Republican Senate candidate Kari Lake just received some good news thanks to a brand new poll that has her rising almost within the margin of error as she takes on Democratic Rep. Ruben Gallego in what many analysts believe is one of several critically important races that could help decide who controls the Senate. Currently, Lake is sitting at 46 percent, while Gallego is at 50 percent.

Lake recently paid a visit to the southern border to examine the impact of illegal immigration in her state and took an opportunity to reiterate her immigration policy and what she plans to do to improve border security for those in Arizona.

“We’d like to see this wall completed from the Gulf Coast to the Pacific Highway,” said Lake, according to a report published by MSN. The former gubernatorial candidate has always taken a strong stance on immigration as it was a large part of her platform in 2022 as well. She stated during her talk at the southern border that she would take action to address the immigration crisis before going on to criticize the Biden-Harris administration and their rollout of CBP One, which is a mobile app designed to make it simpler for migrants desiring to cross into the U.S. to apply for asylum.

MSN reports:

Lake said if elected, she would fight to bring back the 2018 “Remain in Mexico” border policy, instituted by the Trump administration. The policy forced migrants to stay in Mexico until they were granted an asylum hearing in court. “We have a better way. We have to get back to the policies that president Trump had that were working and were keeping us safe. We’ve seen an incredible surge in people coming here illegally and it’s not stopping,” said Lake.

There were about 145,000 undocumented immigrant crossings in September, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection. It’s a more than a 50% drop from last December’s peak since President Joe Biden started limiting asylum cases this summer.

In a relatively strange turn of events, the Washington Examiner is reporting that former President Bill Clinton delivered a compliment to Lake, referring to her as “physically attractive,” which led to a response from the Arizona Republican, asking, with a sharp wit whether or not she was Clinton’s type.

“Bill Clinton paid me a compliment. He said I was physically attractive,” Lake said while chatting to a group of supporters in Tempe, Arizona, chuckling as she spoke. “First of all, you know what? As a middle-aged woman, I’m flattered.”

“I’m flattered, OK. I don’t get those kinds of compliments every day,” she added.

“Two, I thought I was a little too old for him,” Lake zinged. “Doesn’t he like interns? Three, I’m happily married to my husband Jeff, who’s right down here, the love of my life. … Nobody in their right mind wants to cross Hillary Clinton. It’s just dangerous.”
