Kari Lake Snaps Back At News Host Who Calls Trump ‘Old’, Brings The Receipts

In a dynamic exchange with news host Rob Finnerty, U.S. Senate candidate from Arizona Kari Lake robustly defended former President Donald Trump’s age and cognitive abilities. The interview, initially focused on Lake’s Senate campaign, veered into a discussion about her potential involvement in a Trump-led administration.

Finnerty’s questioning took a notable turn when he remarked, “Donald Trump’s an old man just like Joe Biden… he’s 77 years old. He’s an old man just like Joe Biden, who’s 81 years old.” The jab came after acknowledging Trump’s favorable opinion of Lake, where he described her as a “natural born talent” and a likely U.S. Senator.

Lake responded firmly, focusing on her Senate race but not shying away from addressing Finnerty’s point. “I think all of the races around the country are intricately connected to President Trump winning. That’s why I’m in New Hampshire,” she explained.

When Finnerty persisted, suggesting a vice-presidential or press secretary role for Lake, she countered, “First of all, Donald Trump is not an old man. He is a very sharp man. His cognitive abilities are unlike anything I’ve ever seen.” Lake then invoked Benjamin Franklin’s legacy, saying, “It was one of our founding fathers, Benjamin Franklin, [who] was 81 years old when he helped to draft and write the United States Constitution. Age is just a number.”

Lake’s rebuttal reinforced her view of Trump’s mental acuity in contrast to Joe Biden, saying, “Unfortunately with Joe Biden, there’s not much going on up here.” She continued to defend Trump’s potential for a successful term if re-elected, while also reflecting on the broader implications of the upcoming election on key issues like border security and federal governance.

As the interview concluded, Lake reiterated her focus on her Senate campaign and her support for Trump, dismissing speculation about her future role in the Trump administration. “I’m going to do everything I can to help President Trump and everything I can to help my country,” she stated.
