In a heartfelt message shared on the official Kensington Royal Twitter account, Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, opened up about her ongoing battle with cancer. As she undergoes chemotherapy, Catherine revealed in a post on X the intimate realities of her treatment, expressing her gratitude for the overwhelming support she has received from the public and detailing the ups and downs of her health journey.

“Blown away by all the kind messages of support and encouragement over the last couple of months,” she began, acknowledging how crucial this support has been for both her and Prince William during some of their most challenging moments. “I am making good progress, but as anyone going through chemotherapy will know, there are good days and bad days. On those bad days you feel weak, tired and you have to give in to your body resting. But on the good days, when you feel stronger, you want to make the most of feeling well.”

Despite the hurdles, Catherine remains optimistic and involved. “I’m looking forward to attending The King’s Birthday Parade this weekend with my family and hope to join a few public engagements over the summer, but equally knowing I am not out of the woods yet,” she wrote on Friday.

The Princess also touched on the personal growth she has experienced through this ordeal, learning patience and how to navigate the uncertainty of her condition. “Taking each day as it comes, listening to my body, and allowing myself to take this much-needed time to heal,” she noted.

In March, Middleton revealed she was battling cancer and started chemotherapy. The announcement came after a major abdominal surgery in January, initially believed to be for a benign condition. Further tests, however, confirmed cancer, leading to her undergoing preventative chemotherapy. Over recent months, Prince William has maintained a brave face during public events following his wife’s announcement.

He recently noted that his wife was “doing well.” Meanwhile, Middleton has been seen running errands alone and with family. An insider told Us Weekly, “Kate’s feeling strong enough to be very involved with the kids. She’s been an active parent.” A second source added, “Kate’s recovery is going well. She’s not able to see many people because she is susceptible to getting sick and they don’t want her compromised, but she’s up and about.”

Kate’s team is currently assessing her future commitments, as the sources explained they are “reevaluating what she’s going to be able to take on when she comes back.” The source added, “She may never come back in the role that people saw her in before. Her role may look very different,” the source mentioned.

“It has taken me time to recover from major surgery in order to start my treatment but most importantly it has taken us time to explain everything to George, Charlotte, and Louis in a way that’s appropriate for them and to reassure them that I’m going to be okay,” Middleton said earlier in the year.
