Kate Middleton’s Surprising Absence Raises Major Concern From Fans

Princess Kate Middleton, the wife of Prince William, has raised the concern of supporters around the world after being absent from her husband’s charity polo event. Several days prior to the Out-Sourcing Inc. Royal Charity Polo Cup 2025, the couple performed double duty during a state visit from the president of France.

The polo event raises money for various charities and causes that both Prince William and Princess Kate hold dear to their hearts. Money goes to help the organizations keep the lights on and continue their work.

According to a report from PEOPLE, Kate usually attends the outing; however, she was absent from last year’s event, too. At the time, the princess was undergoing chemotherapy for cancer.

This year’s polo cup marks the 14th time that William has participated in the charity event. Estimates say the cup will raise well over $19 million.

In March 2024, Princess Kate announced to the world that she was receiving treatment for cancer. In light of that, she stepped out of public life and took a break from royal duties to focus on her health.

Last September, she revealed that her course of chemotherapy was complete. A few months later, in January, Kate said her cancer was in remission, and she would be resuming her regular schedule.

The royal couple had an intense week of royal engagements just prior to the polo event. On July 8, they welcomed French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife, Brigitte, to the U.K. for a three-day visit. It was a significant event, as they were meeting the French leader on behalf of King George.

Along with that, the prince and princess participated in a carriage procession, military inspection, and private lunch at Windsor Castle, before joining up with King Charles and Queen Camilla.

“On Tuesday night, William and Kate stepped out once more to partake in the glamorous state banquet at Windsor Castle held in the Macrons’ honor. The Princess of Wales made her dazzling tiara return for the first time since 2023 and had a prominent seat at the dinner beside the French president. Just last week, Princess Kate openly spoke about the challenges of life after cancer treatment while visiting Colchester Hospital,” the report said.

The Princess of Wales took an opportunity to share her reflections about the ordeal she went through, saying, “You put on a sort of brave face, stoicism through treatment. Treatment’s done, then it’s like, ‘I can crack on, get back to normal,’ but actually, the phase afterwards is really, really difficult.”

“You’re not necessarily under the clinical team any longer, but you’re not able to function normally at home as you perhaps once used to,” she added. “And actually, someone to help talk you through that, show you and guide you through that sort of phase that comes after treatment, I think is really valuable.”

The absence of the princess from the event has left fans worrying that her cancer may have already made a return or she’s facing complications in her recovery, though no official word to confirm the reason for her missing the cup has been revealed.
