KJP Says It “Doesn’t Matter” Where Brandon Got Covid

In a “fuggedaboudit” moment, Sleepy Joe’s press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters that it doesn’t matter where Brandon contracted COVID-19 after it was announced the President tested positive for the virus.

According to KJP, preparedness is more important than provenance:

“I don’t think that matters. Right? I think what matters is we prepared for this moment,” she told reporters on July 21.

Sleepy Joe was administered an antigen test, followed by a Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test which confirmed the original positive result, according to Brandon’s personal doctor, Dr. Kevin O’Connor. He was given the antigen test after having reported mild systems, including a runny nose and fatigue on Wednesday, as reported by The Epoch Times.

Jean-Pierre told the press corps that in addition to the runny nose and fatigue, Brandon had a “restless sleep” and a dry cough. It’s unclear exactly when the president became aware of his symptoms, according to Dr. Ashish Jha, coordinator of the Biden Administration’s COVID-19 response, but he had spent considerable time with groups of different people earlier in the week.

Just this past Wednesday he was traveling to Massachusetts on Air Force One with multiple members of Congress and White House staff, including Karine Jean-Pierre. He also met with Olena Zelenska, the wife of Ukraine President Zelensky, this week. Some of those who were in close contact with Sleepy Joe took tests which came back negative. Sen. Ed Markey (D-Mass.) and Rep Jake Auchincloss (D-Mass.) were among the negative group, as was First Lady Jill Biden.

“I’m on the road in Detroit today, but I spoke to Joe earlier and he’s feeling fine, just experiencing a few mild symptoms,” the first lady wrote on Twitter.

Brandon is isolating for five days at the White House, in accordance with recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), while Jill is staying at the family home in Delaware.

As The Epoch Times reports, CDC guidance advises people who tested positive to remain apart from others and, if they cannot, to wear a mask at all times. However, Brandon was not wearing a mask in a picture released by the White House late Thursday, nor was he maintaining a social distance of at least six feet.

Despite claiming “fuggedaboudit” on contact tracing to determine where Sleepy Joe may have contracted COVID-19, KJP told the White House press corps that “we’re starting the process” of figuring out who was in close contact with Biden and communicating with them, she said.

The appearance of the China-originating COVID-19 has rocked the world, but it is a virus with a high recovery rate and primarily resolves on its own. However, people in high-risk group may require hospitalization, and death occurs in a small number of cases. Brandon, 79 and turning 80 in November, is considered at high-risk of progression to severe disease because of his advanced age. On the advice of his doctor, he had been taking Pfizer’s COVID-19 pill, Paxlovid, and has received a vaccination plus three boosters.
