Lara Trump Promises Massive ‘Legal Ballot Harvesting’ Operation If Elected RNC Co-Chair

During a recent speech, Lara Trump detailed her version for the Republican National Committee if current chair Ronna McDaniel does opt to step down after South Carolina. Trump’s plan includes a massive overhaul of legal ballot harvesting operations, a strong early voting push and trained poll watchers in every precinct across the country.

McDaniel’s future at the RNC will reportedly be decided after South Carolina’s Republican primary, which is set to take place on February 24. Earlier reports indicated that McDaniel’s departure was already confirmed, though the RNC chair later pushed back by saying that a final decision will be made after the primary.

Lara Trump, who is married to the former president’s son Eric, has received an endorsement from her father-in-law to serve as co-chair alongside North Carolina Republican Party leader Michael Whatley.

While speaking at a South Carolina rally earlier this week, Lara Trump laid out her vision for the RNC.

“If I am elected co-chair of the RNC, we are going to have out of control, like we’ve never seen in America, voter registration. Legal ballot harvesting all over this country, a ground game like we have never seen before, election day operations, poll watchers in every polling location across this country,” she said.

“And we’re not just gonna poll watch. We have already seen, and the RNC has started and we will continue doing this. Trained poll watchers, these are people who go in and actually physically handle the ballots. You can count every ballot coming in so you know how many ballots go out,” Trump continued.

We are going to have to play this game so much better than the Democrats that we leave nothing to chance come November 5th.”

Ms. Trump also promised to increase the RNC’s focus on early voting, an area Democrats have excelled in since the massive expansion of mail-in and absentee voting in 2020. “And I’ll tell you something else; we have to start doing early voting. I know we’d love one election day, we’d love paper ballots, we’d love everybody to have voter ID because that makes sense doesn’t it in the United States,” she said.

“We may get back there one day, but we are not there today.”
