Wysocki was best known for being the former drummer of the American rock band Staind. He was with the band from its formation in 1995 until his departure in 2011. During his time with Staind, the band achieved significant success, releasing multiple albums that received both critical and commercial acclaim. Their music, characterized by its blend of heavy metal, grunge, and alternative rock, often explored themes of personal anguish and introspection.

Staind gained mainstream success in the early 2000s with their album Break the Cycle, which featured hits like “It’s Been Awhile” and “Outside.” The album was a commercial success, achieving multi-platinum status and making Staind a significant presence in the rock music scene of that era. The band continued to release albums such as 14 Shades of Grey, Chapter V, and The Illusion of Progress, each seeing various degrees of success. Staind’s music often explores themes of pain, heartbreak, and resilience, resonating with a wide audience due to its raw emotional depth.

Staind’s lead singer, Adam Lewis, honored Wysocki in a statement: “I’m so sad. I lost my friend. A friend I loved like a brother… fought with like a brother… cared for like a brother… worried about like a brother… cried over like a brother… because he was my brother in arms. My journey would’ve been different without him. The battles we fought together. The battles we fought against each other. The battles we fought side by side alone with our own demons.”

“The battles we won and the battles we lost. He was my friend. He was our brother. My heart is broken. My world has changed. I’ll see you on the other side my friend. My brother. Godspeed. My heart, my love, and my condolences go out to his family and loved ones. I’m so f*cking sad. He will be missed.”

After leaving Staind, Wysocki was involved in other musical projects, though he had maintained a relatively low profile compared to his time in Staind. His drumming style, which effectively complemented Staind’s dark and melodic sound, is noted for its solid, driving rhythms and thoughtful use of dynamics.
