LOL: Far-Left Trevor Noah Gets Shredded by Trump, Conservative Critics after Announcing Daily Show Departure
Trevor Noah recently announced that he would be leaving The Daily Show, saying “I remember when we first started, so many people thought it was a crazy bet, I still think it was a crazy choice, this random African. What a journey’s it’s been. It’s been absolutely amazing.”
A Comedy Central spokesperson confirmed that Noah would be leaving, saying “We are grateful to Trevor for our amazing partnership over the past seven years. With no timetable for his departure, we’re working together on next steps. As we look ahead, we’re excited for the next chapter in the 25-plus-year history of The Daily Show as it continues to redefine culture through sharp and hilarious social commentary, helping audiences make sense of the world around them.”
Well, though Noah and Comedy Central both said that having Noah aboard was “amazing,” Breitbart’s Nolte noted that ratings for the show had crashed by 75% with Trevor Noah heading it up, saying:
When Jon Stewart left the Daily Show in 2015, he averaged 1.3 million viewers per night. After seven years of humiliating failure, Stewart’s hand-picked replacement, some guy named Trevor Noah, is slinking off with an average viewership as of last week of 363,000 viewers.
[…]How is it even possible in a country of 330 million, a Trevor Noah, with billions of dollars in free media promotion and the power of a multinational corporation like Paramount Media Networks behind him, attracted only 363,000 viewers?
[…]Trevor Noah’s problem was that he has almost no charisma, he isn’t very funny, and his left-wing humor — which is really propaganda with a laugh track — is predictable and therefore dull. Humor emanates from a grain of truth mixed with surprise. Noah surprised no one. At least Jon Stewart had energy and could mug and make faces that emitted funny voices. Noah always looked like he was ready for bed.
And Nolte was far from the only one who decided to mock Noah amidst the news of his departure.
Former President Donald Trump took to Truth Social to mock Noah as well, saying:
Trevor Noah was a waste of time, no talent, no anything. Jon Stewart was only slightly better, but highly overrated. Comedy Central should focus on comedy and not politics, because they’re not very good at it. If these characters ever went neutral or Conservative, they’d double and triple up the ratings—but nobody’s figured that out except me! Congratulations to John Nolte for his unique brilliance and insight.
Leftie outlets, predictably, rallied to Noah’s defense. NPR, for example, used your tax dollars to put the blame on structural problems with late-night TV and praise Noah for comparing former President Donald Trump to Idi Amin and Robert Mugabe, while also fawning over Noah’s supposed talent.
But the numbers cited by Nolte hold a truth the leftist propaganda pushers can’t dodge: much as the inside the Beltway crowd might have loved Noah bashing the right, Americans generally tuned him out and turned him off during his seven years at Comedy Central.
