Longtime CNN Host Breaks From Liberal Media, Calls Out Kamala’s ‘Basement Strategy’
Longtime CNN host Chris Cillizza openly criticized Vice President Kamala Harris’s approach to media engagement, calling attention to what her “basement strategy.” This criticism comes at a pivotal moment as Harris, alongside her newly announced running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, gears up for their first joint rally in Philadelphia, marking the beginning of a critical tour through battleground states.
Harris aims to bolster the Democrat ticket as they prepare to challenge former President Donald Trump in the upcoming election. However, Cillizza’s remarks are a growing concern within certain circles of the media regarding Harris’s apparent reluctance to engage directly with the press.
“Kamala Harris has been the de facto presidential nominee for two weeks now. In that time, as best as I can tell, she has done zero media interviews and held zero press conferences (or even taken random questions from reporters),” Cillizza tweeted earlier today.
Cillizza, a well-known political commentator and journalist, served as an editor-at-large for CNN. His work not only earned him a reputation for insightful, often witty commentary but also established him as a significant figure in political journalism. Despite facing criticism at times for his takes, Cillizza remains a prominent voice in American political journalism.

Since Biden stepped aside to endorse Harris for the 2024 Presidential race, Harris hasn’t faced the media once. At Joint Base Andrews, the Democrat front-runner gave only a brief nod to the press as she and Joe Biden welcomed home Americans from a massive prisoner swap with Russia.
Just weeks ago, Democratic leaders were all but demanding Biden follow the same playbook. It seems now Harris’s team is jittery about putting her live on air, fearing she might not handle the heat of real-time questions.
REACTIONS:
Gee almost as if the media has given her a total pass so far…

She can't even face basic scrutiny. Major red flag for even the slowest minds.
