‘LUCKY TO BE HERE’: Gordon Ramsay Narrowly Survives Bicycle Accident
Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay had a close call last week, surviving a serious bicycle accident in Connecticut. Ramsay, known for his fiery personality and culinary expertise, took to social media to share his experience and talk about the importance of wearing a helmet.
In the video, Ramsay’s hands visibly shaking, he began by addressing his fans and followers, “This week unfortunately I had a really bad accident and it really shook me… and honestly I’m lucky to be here.” The celebrity chef, who is known for participating in intense physical activities like triathlons and Ironman competitions, experienced a significant scare that left him counting his blessings.
The chef’s message was clear and urgent: helmets save lives. “Now from those incredible trauma surgeons, doctors, nurses in the hospital who looked after me this week, they were amazing but honestly, you’ve got to wear a helmet. I don’t care how short the journey is,” he said.
Ramsay lifted up his shirt to show the awful bruise he sustained from his injuries, which was pretty graphic.

“I don’t care, you know, the fact that these helmets cost money, but they’re crucial. Even with the kids, a short journey, they’ve got to wear a helmet. Now, I’m lucky to be standing here. I’m in pain. It’s been a brutal week. And I’m sort of getting through it.” As Ramsay himself said, “If I didn’t [wear a helmet], honestly, I wouldn’t be here now.”
Ramsay has kept busy with multiple television projects and personal milestones. Recently he crowned the winner of Season 22 of ‘Hell’s Kitchen’ and the show has been renewed for Seasons 23 and 24. On the personal front, Ramsay and his wife Tana share family photos of their children, as despite his busy schedule, Ramsay makes time for family.
