MAGA Turns On Donald Trump Jr.’s New Girlfriend

Supporters of President-elect Donald Trump aren’t taking too kindly to Donald Trump, Jr.’s new girlfriend, who reportedly is seeking out a plum perch in the new administration, according to the New York Post.

Bettina Anderson, the 38-year-old model in the middle of a broken engagement between Don Jr. and fiancé Kimberly Guilfoyle, has been seen schmoozing insiders at Mar-a-Lago as she seeks an opening to serve on one of the White House’s many community outreach boards or advisory committees. A source close to the transition team said she has focused particularly on the chairmanship of the President’s Committee on the Arts and Humanities. The gossip comes less than a week after President-elect Trump nominated Guilfoyle to serve as the next U.S. Ambassador to Greece, a lofty position with many responsibilities but which some view as a consolation for her failed engagement with his son.

Meanwhile, the love interest for Don Jr. has had the floor of Mar-a-Lago to herself, hitting up senior decision-makers about the president-elect’s remaining appointments and timeframes for decision-making, sources say. She has been overheard pitching her approach as one geared toward “the more sophisticated and liberal Hamptons and Palm Beach types of people,” but her lack of accreditation and time in MAGA circles is casting doubt over her glad-handing. “Being a wannabe influencer is nothing new in this world — but is she an influencer or an infiltrator?” the transition source questioned.

Asked about a potential philanthropic appointment for Anderson, a spokesperson for Don Jr. fired back, “This is totally wrong — not only is she not getting one, she has never brought up wanting one.” The Post pointed to Anderson’s current body of work, which includes serving on the Project Paradise Film Fund, where she oversees $25,000 in annual disbursements to produce movies about Florida’s wildlife. “As a Palm Beach native and an outdoor enthusiast, Bettina is passionate about protecting Florida wildlife and preserving the natural treasures that make Florida such a unique and beautiful place to live,” a description reads on the website. “Bettina loves being in the water and, as a licensed rebreather tech diver, she has a unique and special lens for witnessing the impact that over-development is having on our natural waters and marine wildlife.”

Some sources who have dug into Anderson’s social media history fear that she has too many left-leaning views to be eligible for a Trump appointment. She has posted photographs in Covid masks and, on Instagram, shared a photo of a baby carriage filled with shopping bags. She has been outspoken in her opinions as well, sharing her desire to not want children. “I’m just your typical stay at home mom…only I don’t do household chores…or have a husband…or have kids,” her Instagram bio reads.

“The transition is delivering big wins for the country,” one source in Trump’s inner circle told the Daily Mail. “We can’t afford to have any headaches or liabilities trying to grift their way to more Instagram followers. … Especially ones who aren’t MAGA to begin with.”
