Appearing on Saturday on MSNBC’s “Ayman”, Congresswoman Maxine Waters (D-CA), went on the attack against Republican members of Congress, saying that Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) and her allies are “domestic terrorists.”
That comment came when Waters was discussing the death of Tyre Nichols and the potential for police reform with the host, Ayman Mohyeldin, who asked if Republicans would cooperate with Democrats on instituting police reform following Nichols’ death.
Waters, in response, said “It’s the Marjorie Taylor Greene Republican caucus. And so I don’t expect anything from them.” Continuing, she went on to say “and you heard what McCarthy said. He said that he just loves her, and that he’s going to do everything he can to protect her.”
And that’s when she got to the bit where she called them domestic terrorists, saying:
“We have these right-wing conservatives who are, you know, we have domestic terrorists in the House of Representatives.
“These people are extremists. And so I am not optimistic that that is the way that it is going to happen until the people of this country really decide that they do not want it, and they are not going to elect people who act in the way that they act.”

Commenting about Waters’ comments on Twitter after ZeroHedge posted about it, people said things like:
“The term “domestic terrorist” has truly lost any weight with normal thinking ppl. Calling anyone who doesn’t agree with you a terrorist on a regular basis makes them numb to it to the point they embrace it in a comical like sense”
“Just like the word nazi, they’re normalizing the word terrorist now. Watering it down to meaninglessness. But to them, Ultra Mega top tier freakout.”
“Liberals will call anyone the nastiest names if they don’t agree with them, will not even debate.”
“I wish that Republicans were even a fraction as based as Democrats make them out to be”
“As the saying goes, “Guilty dog always barks first”
Similarly, Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) fired back at Waters on Twitter, saying “Maxine Waters says that we have House Republicans who are domestic terrorists. [I]nteresting, as I don’t remember anyone in the House who has called for more violence than Maxine Waters.”
ZeroHedge, reporting on why Waters and others on the left are pushing the “domestic terrorism” line, said:
Since Jan. 6, 2021, domestic terrorism has been pushed by the mainstream media as a widespread threat facing the United States.
In September, Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) revealed information from an FBI whistleblower who alleged that the FBI was “manipulating” case files related to the Jan. 6 Capitol breach to make it seem like America has a bigger domestic terrorism problem than it actually does.
“The manipulative casefile practice creates false and misleading crime statistics,” the whistleblower alleged, according to Jordan.
“Instead of hundreds of investigations stemming from a single, black swan incident at the Capitol, FBI and DOJ officials point to significant increases in domestic violent extremism and terrorism around the United States.”
According to the whistleblower, a Washington task force identifies “potential subjects” related to the Jan. 6 case and possible locations where they might reside. The task force then sends “information packets” to several local field offices around the country, asking them to open investigations.
