WATCH: McCarthy Hints At Impeachment Probe After Recess: ‘This Is Appalling’

Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) told Fox Business show host Larry Kudlow that he is considering moving forward with an impeachment probe against the Biden administration upon the end of Congress’ recess. Speaker McCarthy compared certain behaviors exhibited by this current administration to actions taken under the Richard Nixon administration. President Nixon himself was subject to impeachment hearings in the House of Representatives but resigned before the probe could proceed to a vote on impeachment and conviction in either chamber of Congress.

The Californian lawmaker’s ire was provoked mainly by the attempts by the administration to withhold documents and witnesses before Congress concerning its probe of the president for his history of using his political offices to engage in influence peddling.

“Larry, I have never seen an administration use a different form of government like this to withhold information since the Nixon administration. This is appalling what they are doing. I never seen a person in elected office use their office like this to have 20 shell companies, you have 9 people in the [Biden] family getting paid after you take certain actions,” said McCarthy.

McCarthy mentioned that there was a credible whistleblower who is currently under the pay of the FBI and who accused Joe Biden and Hunter Biden of being bribed by a Ukrainian energy company. The FBI, as McCarthy noted, “never did anything with it [this information].” The Speaker then observed that there was testimony by IRS agents who swore that the Biden family “got treated differently- that the FBI actually warned Hunter Biden before they wanted to go meet with him.”

McCarthy then mentioned the recent designation of US Attorney Weiss as a special counsel by Biden’s Justice Department. Weiss was a man who “literally let the statute of limitations run out on the most severe tax problems that the Biden family had.”

McCarthy then noted more instances of how the Biden family was treated differently and with unusual deference during the course of the IRS probe. “What we found out now is the things that then Vice President Biden running for president told the American public is not true and he has now had to change what he said,” said the Speaker. McCarthy then proclaimed, “If they [the Biden administration] withhold the documents and fight like they have now to not provide to the American public what they deserve to know we will move forward with [an] impeachment inquiry when we come back into session.”
