Meghan McCain GASPS Over Shocking Poll Foreshadowing A Trump Landslide

Meghan McCain might be having a panic attack based on her online reaction to a new poll showing former President Donald Trump gaining a huge lead over President Joe Biden in the battleground state of Iowa.

McCain, the daughter of late Arizona Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) and a former liberal Republican co-host on “The View,” has been an acidic critic of Trump since his first successful run for the White House. Now, she is warning other anti-Trump members of the mainstream media that the former president’s growing lead in the Hawkeye State portends a possible victory in Wisconsin as well.

“There is no scenario where Trump wins Iowa by 18 points but loses Wisconsin,” McCain wrote on X. “Ann Selzer is arguably the best pollster in the country (certainly Iowa) and her polls should be taken extremely seriously.”

Selzer, a Des Moines-based pollster, surveyed 632 likely voters between June 9th and 14th, roughly two weeks after President Trump was convicted in his Manhattan hush money trial. The results found that his lead in Iowa is only growing, starkly contrasting previous polls where respondents said they would be less likely to support Trump if he were found guilty in any of his criminal trials. Selzer found that Trump currently leads President Biden 50% to 32% among likely voters, according to the Des Moines Register. Independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., collected a notable 9% of the vote.

In neighboring Wisconsin, meanwhile, President Trump holds a razor-thin lead over Biden of 0.5%, according to an amalgam of recent polls by FiveThirtyEight. If McCain’s sky-is-falling estimations are true, then polls in the Badger State are badly underestimating the level of support for Trump. A poll of 500 Wisconsin voters conducted between June 5th and 10th found the two men even at 44%. Some say the latest numbers out of Iowa also signal Trump’s growing chances in the blue stronghold of Minnesota.

Donald Share, an Iowa voter who spoke with the Register after being polled, said that Trump’s America First theme is resonating with him. “I like (that) he doesn’t take any guff from anybody, that he puts America first,” Share said. “You know, we need to take care of our own before we worry about everybody else.” In regards to Trump’s criminal conviction, “these charges are part of the reason my mind is made up,” Share said. “The more they try to get him out of the picture, the stronger they make him. I, for one, believe that the charges are bogus.”

Among respondents who named a first-choice candidate, 67% said their minds are made up while 29% said they can be persuaded. Those numbers among Trump supporters are 76% and 24%, respectively, underscoring the steadfastness of voters who prefer the Republican. President Biden, meanwhile, earned support from 81% who said their minds were made up while 19% said they could be persuaded to vote for someone else.

Across seven of the nation’s most pivotal swing states, President Trump currently leads in every one. A general election poll conducted by Bloomberg and Morning Consult found the former president and Republican frontrunner leading Biden by an average of 4.5 percent across Wisconsin, Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Nevada, North Carolina, and Arizona. The poll, which surveyed more than 4,900 voters between November 27th and December 1st, carries a margin of error of just plus or minus 1 percent.

All of these states, with the exception of North Carolina, went for President Biden three years ago.
