Melania Takes ‘Brutal’ Swipe At The Obamas In New Interview

Former First Lady Melania Trump is grateful to know her way around the White House, admitting in a recent interview that the Obamas barely lifted a finger in helping her get acclimated upon arriving in Washington for the first time in 2017.

The swipe came as Melania spoke with Fox News about her anticipation of a second Trump presidency and the role she hopes to fill. When asked what was different this time, she didn’t hold back.

“The difference is I know where I will be going,” Melania said. “I know the rooms where we will be living. I know the process.

“The first time was challenging. We didn’t have much of the information,” she admitted. “The information was [withheld] from us from the previous administration… So it’s a very different transition this time around.”

The silent treatment from Barack and Michelle Obama speaks volumes about how they view their successors, and leaving Melania directionless on her first day was just the start of it. Michelle has become the highest-profile Democrat to announce she will be skipping Trump’s inauguration on January 20th.

President Obama’s relationship with Trump is more curious. The two shared smiles and laughter at Jimmy Carter’s funeral last week, sitting side-by-side and appearing the picture of cordial as a fuming Vice President Kamala Harris looked on.

Similarly, President Obama confirmed he would be at Trump’s swearing-in, repeating his appearance from 2017.

But it’s a personal animosity between the Trumps and Michelle Obama that seems to have driven a permanent wedge between the power couples. She has told allies she refuses to “be fake” by appearing to welcome a second Trump presidency, in contrast to her husband’s message of “unity,” the Daily Mail reported.

When asked whether the Bidens are proving more helpful, Melania appeared to dodge the question and spoke of the frenetic agenda that comes with Inauguration Day. Everything needs to be planned to the minute,” she told Fox.

“I will be in the White House and when I need to be in New York, I will be in New York. When I need to be in Palm Beach, I will be in Palm Beach. But my first priority is to be a mom, to be a First Lady, to be a wife, and once we are in on January 20, you serve the country,” she added, saying an “exciting four years” are ahead and that “we have a lot to do and put the country back in shape.”

According to a source close to Michelle, the former first lady has no plans to patch things up with Melania.

“She’s never been fake and she’s never been phony. She’s always been very deliberate about where and how she shows up,” the source said. “She showed up reluctantly for the election. They were united, but she doesn’t have to unify around [Trump]. She doesn’t have to say anything.”

“Her absence speaks volumes.”
