Melania Trump’s Official Portrait Is Revealed
The White House has officially unveiled the official portrait of First Lady Melania Trump.
In a striking black-and-white photograph taken by Belgian photographer Regine Mahaux, First Lady Melania Trump is depicted in the Yellow Oval Room a day after President Donald Trump’s inauguration as the 47th President of the United States.
Dressed in a suit paired with a white blouse, she stood with her hands resting on the table with the Washington Monument visible in the backdrop.
The image contrasts with her 2017 portrait, presenting a more serious demeanor, just like her husband.
In 2017, Mahaux also took the first portrait of Melania. In the older portrait, she is seen wearing a black ensemble and standing in front of a window in the White House in color.

Mahaux is a Belgian-born photographer known for her high-profile portrait work, particularly with celebrities and political figures. She gained widespread recognition for her polished and stylized portraits of members of the Trump family. Mahaux’s photography style is characterized by its glamorous and carefully composed imagery, often emphasizing an air of sophistication and power.
Her work has been featured in various media outlets and publications, contributing to the visual branding of prominent public figures.
President Donald Trump’s official portraits from 2017 to 2025 also reflected a significant shift in tone and presentation, mirroring changes in his public image and political journey. His first portrait, released during his initial term, showcased a smiling Trump dressed in a dark suit and blue tie, set against a backdrop featuring the American flag and bookshelves.
The imagery aimed to convey a traditional, approachable leader.
By contrast, his 2025 portrait adopts a different approach. It features a stern, unsmiling expression that echoes the widely publicized mug shot taken during legal proceedings in 2023. The updated portrait’s minimalist background eliminates distractions, drawing attention to his resolute demeanor.
The transformation from a warm and conventional presidential image to a no-nonsense, defiant stance underscores a deliberate effort to project strength and resilience.
