Michigan Auto Workers Stun CNN Reporter, Say America Is ‘Ruined’ If Kamala Wins
A CNN anchor asked two Michigan autoworkers whether Democrats ditching President Biden for Vice President Harris would have any effect on their votes. The left-wing network did not get the answer it was expecting.
“We did run into plenty of fervent Trump supporters who say the new challenger has only made them more enthused about the former president,” the reporter said before cutting to a clip of the two auto workers.
“Does Kamala Harris getting in the race change the equation at all for either of you?” he asked.
“Change it? It ruins it. If she gets in, we’re done,” one of the workers replied.
Seemingly taken back, the reporter followed up by asking what he meant by “done.”
“America’s done for,” the worker replied.

Former President Trump has frequently reached out to auto workers and other laborers in key rust belt states throughout his 2024 White House run.
While United Auto Workers union leadership endorsed President Biden after the auto workers strike last year, Trump has continuously seen gains with union workers. A recent CNN poll found that Biden and Trump were neck-and-neck with union voters at 47 percent each.
It remains to be seen whether Kamala Harris will be able to replicate President Biden’s appeal in states like Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Nevada, all of which contain large numbers of union and non-union laborers. Biden frequently portrayed himself as a moderate throughout his Senate career, as well as his presidency, and attempted to relate to workers through his own upbringing.
UAW President Shawn Fain has stated that the union will be withholding its endorsement of Harris for the time being, while the Republican National Convention recently made history when Teamsters President Sean O’Brien became the union’s first ever leader to address the RNC.
Trump has made frequent stops in Michigan where he has spoken to auto workers specifically. During the auto industry strike, Trump railed against President Biden’s electric vehicle mandates while speaking at a Michigan plant.
“Biden’s mandate isn’t a government regulation, it’s a government assassination of your jobs and of your industry,” Trump told workers. “The auto industry is being assassinated. And it makes no difference what you get – I don’t care what you get in the next two weeks, or three weeks, or five weeks. They’re gonna be closing up and they will be building those cars in China and other places. It’s a hit-job on Michigan, and Detroit, and it’s not sustainable.”
