Mother Of Alleged Charlie Kirk Assassin Confirms Left-Wing, ‘Pro-Trans’ Shift

Before he went on a murderous rampage, the suspect in Charlie Kirk’s murder developed a soft spot for transgender individuals like his roommate and lover, according to his mother.

The woman is reportedly cooperating with authorities after her husband turned their son in for the shooting that killed Kirk, a conservative activist and founder of Turning Point USA. Investigators who have spoken with suspect Tyler Robinson’s mother detailed how she watched her son become “more political” in recent years, including greater outspokenness on transgender issues.

Robinson was left-leaning when it came to “pro-gay and trans rights,” new court documents state. His mother recalled a sharp exchange between Robinson and her father, a registered Republican, who had a starkly different view on biological men transitioning to become women.

At one point, she told officials, Robinson referred to Kirk’s speech at Utah Valley University as a “stupid” venue and claimed Kirk “spreads too much hate.”

Prosecutors argue in court filings that Robinson targeted Kirk “because of his political expression” and his numerous appearances on college campuses, where he would challenge anyone and everyone to a debate on current issues.

After investigators released initial photos of the suspect wearing a hat and sunglasses, Robinson’s mother said her husband began to suspect their son was behind the atrocity.

“Robinson’s father reported that when his wife showed him the surveillance image of the suspected shooter in the news, he agreed that it looked like their son,” prosecutors alleged in court filings.

He confronted his son, who confessed and turned himself in to the authorities the night of September 11.

“As they discussed the situation, Robinson implied that he was the shooter and stated that he couldn’t go to jail and just wanted to end it,” prosecutors wrote. “When asked why he did it, Robinson explained there is too much evil and the guy [Charlie Kirk] spreads too much hate.”

In addition to facing charges of aggravated murder for the killing of Kirk, Robinson has been hit with two counts of obstruction of justice for concealing the rifle and discarding clothing, and two counts of witness tampering after encouraging his roommate to delete their text message exchanges and refuse to answer questions.

Robinson was also charged with committing violence in the presence of children. Prosecutors said Tuesday they intend to seek the death penalty.

More filings released Tuesday appear to indicate that the roommate, Lance Twiggs, may have been alerted to Robinson’s plan to kill Kirk before he carried it out. Investigators are continuing to comb through text messages and Discord chats with transgender activists as they work to uncover if other individuals played a role.

“It appears from the data we’ve accumulated that this ideology had infected him and had taken over,” FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino told Fox News. “He was intent on making Charlie his target and people may have known in advance.”
