WATCH: Musk Says Leftist Programmers Are “Training AI To Lie”

In an ironic twist of fate, Elon Musk now says the artificial intelligence technology he originally funded is being overtaken by left-wing programmers who are training the next generation of bots to lie and introduce bias in their responses to users.

Musk, speaking with Fox News host Tucker Carlson, said that leftist programmers may now be designing AIs to “comment on some things but not others.”

“What’s happening is they’re training the A.I. to lie. It’s bad,” he said in a preview of his interview on “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” which is set to air Monday evening.

“A.I. is more dangerous than, say, mismanaged aircraft design or production maintenance or bad car production,” Musk explained. “In the sense that it has the potential, however, small one may regard that probability, but it is non-trivial, it has the potential of civilization destruction.”

Last month, Musk co-signed a letter from more than 1,000 technology leaders calling for a six-month pause in the progress of AIs while developers determine ethical standards for producing systems that threaten to replace swaths of workers with automated content production. Goldman Sachs released a recent report showing that as many as 300 million jobs could be fully automated by AI, although analysts conclude a majority of jobs will be augmented, rather than replaced, by robots.

Users of ChatGPT, the most popular AI, have posted screenshots of the bot poetically extolling the virtues of President Joe Biden while refusing to do the same for former President Donald Trump. The National Institute of Standards and Technology has recommended policing AI with monitoring systems to help reduce biases that may be purposefully or subconsciously introduced by their human creators.
