MUST-SEE: Democrat Governor Booed By Baseball Fans At Opening Day
Maryland Gov. Wes Moore got a rough welcome from baseball fans on Opening Day.
Moore, a Democrat, showed up Thursday at Oriole Park at Camden Yards as the Baltimore Orioles hosted the Minnesota Twins in the home opener. Baltimore won 2-1.
But the bigger noise came before the first pitch.
Moore took the field alongside Orioles ownership and state officials to tout $135 million in newly completed stadium upgrades, the largest set of improvements since Camden Yards opened in 1992. The first phase includes a new 4K center-field video board, an upgraded sound system, a new Premium Club behind home plate and renovated club-level spaces.
None of that mattered to the crowd once Moore was introduced.

Fans in the stands let loose with loud boos, drowning out the moment that was supposed to be a victory lap for state leaders.
The scene has become a familiar one, Democratic politicians stepping into a stadium expecting applause, then finding out the only thing bipartisan at the ballpark is impatience with politics.
What makes the Camden Yards moment stand out is the setting. Maryland is reliably blue. Baltimore is no conservative outpost.
If Democrats are banking on smooth sailing into the midterms, they might want to listen to what the crowd just told them.
And it’s not an isolated moment. Democratic officials have been catching the same cold shoulder in other arenas, too.
New Jersey Gov. Mikie Sherrill got an icy reception, at the Prudential Center, and it had nothing to do with the Devils’ opponent.
Sherrill was on hand to help welcome Team USA Olympic hero Jack Hughes back to Newark ice following his gold-medal-winning performance against Canada. But when the public address announcer introduced her for the ceremonial puck drop, the crowd responded with loud, sustained boos.
The jeers also extended to her husband, Jason Hedberg, as the arena filled with fans eager to celebrate hockey, not politics.
The game marked Hughes’ first NHL appearance since scoring the decisive goal in Sunday’s gold medal game. The Devils honored their Olympians before puck drop, including players who represented other nations. Still, the loudest cheers were reserved for Hughes, as chants of “U-S-A!” echoed through the building.
That’s the pattern Democrats keep running into. Sports crowds show up for the team, the moment, and the win — not for a politician’s cameo. And when the boos hit in deep-blue territory, it’s a reminder that frustration isn’t confined to red states.
