MUST-SEE: Tom Homan Loses Patience With Liberal Reporter In Fiery Interview
A combative Tom Homan is brushing aside accusations that he is allowing U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers to lawlessly run across the streets of the U.S. while masking their activities beneath balaclavas and other face coverings.
Challenged by a reporter about the constitutionality of allowing ICE agents to cover their faces during immigration raids, the White House border czar issued an unrepentant defense of authorities he claimed are facing threats against their lives and the lives of their families.
People are “up in arms” about the masked ICE agents, Politico’s Dasha Burns declared on a recent podcast episode, saying it’s “not something that we’ve really had on this scale in this country.”
The last comment caused Homan to go ballistic.
“Well, we never had the scale of attacks on ICE we have now — up 700% attacks on ICE, doxing against ICE agents,” Homan responded.
Burns then agreed that there were increased “attacks on police officers” following the 2020 Black Lives Matter protests, but countered that it did not lead to an explosion of masks among law enforcement agencies.
“Name a police agency that has a 700% increase in assaults,” Homan retorted. “Name one. You can’t.”
“I haven’t looked at that data, yeah,” Burns acknowledged.
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security noted in June that ICE agents are experiencing a “disturbing” pattern of harassment in their private lives as protestors seek to uncover their home addresses and the schools their children attend.
“So they’re wearing masks to help give them some sort of protection. The same people that are complaining about ICE wearing masks, have they ever said anything about BLM [Black Lives Matter] protesters wearing masks?” Homan continued.
Burns tried to interject, but Homan cut her off.
“Let me answer, though. Let me answer. Did they ever say anything about the masked protesters that became criminals on college campuses that threatened Jewish students and took over buildings, destroyed property?” the border czar asked. “They were all wearing masks. Did anybody pass legislation saying they can’t wear a mask during a protest? No.”
“Oh, I think there are a lot of people who are upset about that, but —” Burns responded before she was once again silenced by Homan as he questioned why members of Congress haven’t worked harder to introduce legislation banning face coverings for protestors.
He then explained why he feels it’s necessary for ICE agents to wear masks in public.
“I support ICE wearing masks. They’re still wearing insignia. They’ve got HSI, ERO, FBI, DEA, but there needs to be some level of protection because the attacks are unprecedented,” Homan said. “700% for God’s sake.”
“And what I want to remind people is I was an ICE agent. These men and women of ICE, they’re mothers and fathers too. They don’t hang their hearts on a hook every day when they come to work,” he added. “They’re not the beast. They’re enforcing a law. They’re trying to make this country safe again. And they’re being vilified for it and attacked for it … zero tolerance on this.”

The Daily Caller reported that the U.S. Justice Department last week arrested multiple suspects in connection with a July 4 attack on an ICE facility in Texas that saw one officer shot in the neck.
Just three days later, another deranged individual opened fire at a U.S. Border Patrol office before he was shot and killed by members of an elite team of sharpshooters.
