Nancy Pelosi Gets Embarrassed By Twitter Fact Check After Saying Trump Needs To “Prove His Innocence”
After hearing the announcement of former President Trump’s indictment, Nancy Pelosi went to Twitter to boast her excitement about the news.
Pelosi wrote, “The Grand Jury has acted upon the facts and the law. No one is above the law, and everyone has the right to a trial to prove innocence. Hopefully, the former President will peacefully respect the system, which grants him that right.”
However, Pelosi’s statement backfired when she got ‘fact checked’ by Twitter.
Twitter correctly pointed out, “Ms. Pelosi mistakenly says that Trump can prove his innocence at trial. Law in the US assumes the innocence of a defendant and the prosecution must prove guilt for a conviction.” They also cited the law of the presumption of innocence from Cornell Law School.
The irony is hilarious.

REACTIONS:
He doesn’t have to “prove innocence,” you’re wrong again. The government has to “prove guilt.” What country do you think you serve?

No Nancy, we have the right to be presumed innocent until the prosecution PROVES guilt beyond a reasonable doubt. That’s how our system is supposed to work. I know you’re building a system where we’re presumed guilty until innocent but that’s un-American!

If you truly believed no one was above the law, you would have called for the prosecution of the Epstein clients and presidential war criminals.
You didn’t, and you never will.

You don’t even know the law. Prove his innocence?!? Y’all don’t try to hide a damn thing anymore.

Your insider trading has been above the law for your entire career… sit down.
