NEW: Biden Will Not Attend Kamala’s Watch Party

President Biden will not be attending Vice President Kamala Harris’ Election Night watch party, another sign that the campaign may be distancing themselves from the president after a number of recent gaffes.

“Tonight, the president and First Lady will watch election results in the White House residence with longtime aides and senior White House staff,” a White House official told the Washington Examiner. “The president will receive regular updates on the state of races across the country.”

Harris will be hosting a watch party at her alma mater, Howard University, which is located in Washington D.C.

The relationship between President Biden and his former running mate has appeared strained since Biden made the unprecedented decision to suspend his campaign after the Democratic Party primary process had concluded. Despite being an incumbent, Harris has attempted to portray herself as a “change” candidate who will help the nation “turn the page” and plot a new course forward.

President Biden has done some limited campaigning for Harris down the stretch of the campaign cycle, though his contributions have largely been viewed as a net negative for the vice president.

In an interview with CNN last week, Biden referred to former President Trump’s supporters as human “garbage.”

The president took aim at comments made by insult comedian Tony Hinchcliffe, who performed a comedy set at former President Trump’s sold-out rally at Madison Square Garden over the weekend. Hinchcliffe — who is known for his no holds barred style of roast comedy — at one point made a joke about Puerto Rico. The Harris-Walz has seized on the comment and have attempted to tie it to the Trump Campaign.

“They’re good, decent, honorable people,” President Biden said of Puerto Ricans. “The only garbage I see floating out there is his supporters.”

The remark galvanized the former president’s supporters, whom have been showing up to Trump rallies in neon safety vests. The Republican nominee also opted to travel to a Wisconsin rally in a MAGA-themed garbage truck, while several Republican lawmakers have done the same.

Just a few days later, Biden stated that he wanted to smack Trump supporters “on the a**.”

Neither former President Trump nor Vice President Harris will be doing much campaigning on Tuesday. Harris will be participating in a. few radio interviews before heading to the D.C. watch party, while Trump will be watching the results from Florida.
