NEW: Bombshell Court Doc Shows Trump Called Police About Epstein In 2006
Recent releases from the U.S. Department of Justice’s Epstein files have brought renewed attention to a 2006 phone call between then-real estate developer Donald Trump and Palm Beach Police Chief Michael Reiter regarding Jeffrey Epstein’s activities.
The information stems from a 2019 FBI interview with Reiter, which was unsealed as part of a broader cache of documents released earlier this year. According to an FBI summary, Trump contacted Reiter in July 2006, shortly after Epstein’s indictment on a single count of solicitation of prostitution became public.
The call followed a Palm Beach police investigation that began in March 2005, when a 14-year-old girl reported being molested at Epstein’s mansion. Reiter recounted that Trump expressed relief, stating, “Thank goodness you’re stopping him, everyone has known he’s been doing this.”
Trump further described Epstein’s mistress Ghislaine Maxwell — who is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence on a sex-trafficking conviction — as “evil” and urged authorities to “focus on her,” calling her Epstein’s “operative.”
In addition, Trump mentioned an incident where he was around Epstein when teenagers were present and “got the hell out of there.” Reiter further noted that Trump was among the first to call him once the probe became known, though the conversation did not involve Trump reporting new evidence
The document’s release is tied to the Epstein Files Transparency Act, which was signed into law earlier this year after a push headed by U.S. Reps. Ro Khanna (D-CA) and Thomas Massie (R-KY). The act mandated the declassification of federal records related to Epstein, who died in custody in 2019 while facing sex-trafficking charges.
The DOJ began releasing millions of pages in December 2025, including emails, photos, and unverified allegations. Additional batches were released late last month.
Reiter’s interview was part of Dataset 9, highlighting early investigative details from the 2005-2008 probe that led to Epstein’s controversial plea deal.

The call underscores the deteriorating relationship between Trump and Epstein, who had previously been social acquaintances in the 1990s and early 2000s. Animosity began between the two in 2004, and Epstein was ultimately banned from Trump’s Mar-A-Lago state in 2007 due to allegations of inappropriate conduct with minors.
The ban followed an incident where Epstein allegedly pressured an 18-year-old Mar-a-Lago spa worker for sex during a house call and harassed the teenage daughter of another club member. The girl’s father reportedly complained directly to Trump, who revoked Epstein’s access “in no uncertain terms.”
Epstein later expressed resentment in 2017-2019 emails and recordings, calling Trump a “horrible human being” who was “evil beyond belief” and “borderline insane.” The notorious sex trafficker also texted U.S. Delegate Stacey Plaskett on how to best attack Trump during a 2019 congressional hearing.
