NEW: Congressman Caught On Video ‘Groping’ Colleague On House Floor

During the early hours of the morning when the House of Representatives was debating over amendments to the “Big, Beautiful Bill,” a congressman was caught on camera grabbing a handful of a colleague’s backside. The bizarre incident occurred after an amendment vote failed.

The camera feed over the lower chamber of Congress shows two individuals, Rep. Mike Lawler (R-NY) and another Republican, speaking to each other. While they were having a conversation, a third person, identified as Rep. Tim Burchett (R-TN), walked onto the floor and took a grab at the posterior region of the mystery congressman, who was only captured from the back.

Burchett then turns, laughs, and waves to his “victim,” who was jolted by what happened. As of this writing, the incident has not been addressed by any member of Congress.

Reddit users commented about the strange footage and gave some comical takes on the events that unfolded.

“So they are playing graba** AND taking away all our healthcare and rights. Got it,” a user, clearly no fan of the legislation, wrote in the thread.

Another commenter wisecracked that it looked similar to athletes smacking each other on the butt during a sporting event as a “good game” statement.

“Of the things to be mad about, this probably isn’t it. My guess is that they are probably friends and he’s messing with him. How about paying attention to what they are voting on instead,” a Redditor wrote, thinking a bit more pragmatically about the situation.

Congress ultimately passed President Donald Trump’s “Big, Beautiful Bill,” which contains a number of tax cuts and promises that he campaigned on during the 2024 election cycle.

“I think I have more power now,” President Trump said after the passage of the legislation. “More gravitas, more power.”

“Biggest tax cut in history, great for security, great on the southern border…It’s the biggest bill ever signed of its kind,” he added.

Trump also praised Speaker of the House Mike Johnson and Senate Majority Leader John Thune for helping to get the measure passed through Congress. The bill faced an uphill battle against moderate Republicans and deep conservatives like Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY).

“The behemoth, nearly 900-page legislative package extends the president’s 2017 tax cuts and further eliminates taxes on tips and overtime – a marquee promise that the president pledged repeatedly on the campaign trail,” the Daily Mail reported. “The tax cuts alone will cost $4.5 trillion over the next ten years, according to projections from the Congressional Budget Office. To offset the massive price tag, Republicans included $1.2 trillion in spending cuts, mainly trimming Medicaid, the health care program for the poor and disabled.”

Before the vote on the bill took place, the president took to Truth Social, writing, “The USA is on track to break every record on growth. Go Republicans, beat the Crooked Democrats tonight! Pro-growth tax cuts never fail.”

“We had great conversations all day, and the Republican House Majority is united, for the good of our country, delivering the biggest tax cuts in history and massive growth,” the post concluded.
