NEW: DC U.S. Attorney Vows To Protect DOGE From Threats, Suggests Charges Are Coming

Ed Martin, the U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia, has vowed to protect Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) workers from threats and harassment from the radical left.

Musk has hired a number of world class computer programmers and engineers as the committee works to audit government agencies as part of its quest to cut down on government waste. In order to prevent bad actors from deleting data and and leaking information, Musk’s team has reportedly gained access to a number of key databases, including the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID).

Senior congressional sources told Fox News that Musk’s team moved to seize control of the independent agency over the weekend, a move that set Democrat lawmakers into a frenzy. Dozens of Democrat lawmakers attempted to gain access to the building on Monday, claiming that they have control over the funding, even though the agency is controlled by the U.S. State Department.

As DOGE continues its work, media outlets have moved to reveal the names and personal information belonging to Musk’s workers. This has led to a massive uptick in violent threats and harassment directed towards DOGE staffers. “Dear @elon, Please see this important letter. We will not tolerate threats against DOGE workers or law-breaking by the disgruntled. All the best. Ed Martin,” Martin wrote in a letter addressed to Musk, which was posted to X.

“I recognize that some of the staff at DOGE has been targeted publicly. At this time, I ask that you utilize me and my staff to assist in protecting the DOGE work and the DOGE workers,” the letter continued. “Any threats, confrontations, or other actions in anyway that impact their work may break numerous laws.”

Martin went on to promise that criminal charges will be filed against any individual who threatens to harm DOGE workers. “We will not act like the previous administration who looked the other way as the Antifa and BLM [Black Lives Matter] rioters as well as thugs and guns trashed our capital city. We will protect DOGE and other workers no matter what,” the letter continued.

“One last warning for you: late last week, we indicted an economist who worked at the Fed for economic espionage for the Communist Chinese. Please be very aware that there are those who are acting against our American people in every way. Refer to us any questionable conduct or details that you find or notice.”

In a follow-up announcement released on Monday evening, Martin disclosed that preliminary findings suggest that multiple individuals have violated the law in relation to their threats against DOGE employees. “Our initial review of the evidence presented to us indicates that certain individuals and/or groups have committed acts that appear to violate the law in targeting DOGE employees,” the D.C. U.S. attorney announced. “We are in contact with FBI and other law enforcement partners to proceed rapidly. We also have our prosecutors preparing.”

Musk thanked Martin for his efforts in an X post of his own. “Thank you, receipt via X acknowledged,” the platform’s owner replied.
