NEW: Dem Senator Turns On His Own Party Over Riot Response

Published

on

Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) is condemning his own party for failing to sufficiently condemn four days of violent rioting aimed at impeding federal immigration enforcement operations in Los Angeles.

Just as violence erupted in Los Angeles for the fourth day in a row, Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) took to X in order to condemn the violence. “I unapologetically stand for free speech, peaceful demonstrations, and immigration—but this is not that,” the senator wrote.

“This is anarchy and true chaos,” Fetterman continued. “My party loses the moral high ground when we refuse to condemn setting cars on fire, destroying buildings, and assaulting law enforcement.”

The post was accompanied by a photo of several vehicles burning while a masked rioter stands atop a burned out car while waving a Mexican flag during Sunday night’s rioting.

Fetterman’s comments differ starkly from most elected Democrats, the majority of whom have been attempting to blame the Trump Administration for the unrest that has now spread to additional cities in California and Texas.

Despite the fact that unrest erupted on Friday night when violent rioters attacked federal immigration agents during lawful operations in Los Angeles, Mayor Karen Bass and California Governor Gavin Newsom have advanced the false claim that violence only erupted after President Trump deployed National Guard assets on Saturday.

“Donald Trump has created the conditions you see on your TV tonight. He’s exacerbated the conditions. He’s, you know, lit the proverbial match. He’s putting fuel on this fire ever since he announced he was taking over the National Guard in an illegal act, in an amoral act, an unconstitutional act, and we’re going to test that theory with a lawsuit tomorrow,” the governor ranted during the peak of the rioting in downtown Los Angeles on Saturday night.

In a bizarre statement released after two days of sustained rioting on Saturday night, the Los Angeles Police Department commented on “demonstrations across the city of Los Angeles” that “remained peaceful.”

The department added, “We commend all those who exercised their First Amendment rights responsibly.” The statement only continued to get more bizarre, as the LAPD claimed that the day’s events “concluded without incident” while praising “organizers, participants, and community partners who helped ensure public safety throughout the day.”

“There is a lot of misinformation being put out by local and state Government here in California,” independent journalist Anthony Cabassa posted on X Monday. “The escalation and violence was not a result of National Guard deployed, the violence was already here on Friday June 6th, a whole day before,” he added alongside a video of the violent assault on a federal building this past Friday.

By the time the National Guard was deputized by the federal government on Saturday night, rioters had attacked federal agents carrying out raids in the LA fashion district, attacked federal buildings, and nearly killed federal agents by throwing large rocks at moving vehicles.

Attorney General Pam Bondi announced Saturday night that the individual responsible for the latter incident had been identified and added to the FBI’s most wanted list.
