NEW: DOGE Identifies Millions Of ‘Vampires’ In Social Security Database
Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has reportedly uncovered millions of questionable entries in the Social Security database—some suggesting that individuals over 150 years old are still listed as alive.
The revelation came through Musk himself, who took to social media to share his findings, jokingly suggesting that “Twilight is real” and that America might be home to a large population of Social Security-collecting vampires.
Musk shared a data table showing that the system lists thousands of people between 150 and 200 years old as still alive, along with a handful of anomalies—including one entry between 240 and 249 years old and another astonishingly marked between 360 and 369 years old.
“As a friend of mine described it, this is like an amazing puzzle, uncovering the secrets of an ancient civilization that went extinct … except it’s still around,” Musk wrote.
Musk posted a chart that broke down individuals listed in the Social Security database, categorized by age range. The numbers reflect people whose status is still marked as “alive,” even in extreme cases where they should be long deceased.
The first half of the data looks normal, showing large populations of individuals in typical age groups, with the highest concentration around the 30-39 range at 52 million. However, the data gets bizarre after the 100+ age range, where millions of supposed centenarians still have active records.

The anomalies really stand out beyond 150 years old—over a thousand individuals are listed between 200 and 229 years old, and two people supposedly alive today are marked as between 240 and 249 and an incredible 360 and 369 years old.
DOGE, the newly created government agency run under Musk’s leadership, has been tasked with uncovering inefficiencies, fraud, and outdated systems within the federal bureaucracy.
“The logic flow diagram for the Social Security system looks INSANE. No one person actually knows how it works,” Musk later wrote on X. “The payment files that move between Social Security and Treasury have significant inconsistencies that are not reconciled. It’s wild.”
Social Security has faced mounting criticism and scrutiny, particularly concerning its financial sustainability, administrative challenges, and policy provisions.
Projections indicate that the Social Security Trust Fund may be unable to pay full benefits starting in 2033, prompting debates over potential reforms. A poll by the Nationwide Retirement Institute revealed that 72% of Americans are concerned about the program’s funding running out, with many supporting measures such as increasing taxes on higher incomes to bolster the system.
Recent incidents have highlighted significant administrative issues within the Social Security Administration (SSA). For instance, 77-year-old Wilfredo Pagan from Long Island has been unable to collect his benefits due to the SSA erroneously declaring him deceased and labeling his attempts to prove otherwise as fraudulent. Despite providing proof of his existence, Pagan continues to face financial hardship due to the agency’s error.
Musk has been aggressively slashing federal spending from his leadership perch at DOGE. His actions include agency budget cuts, downsizing USAID, and expanding access to IRS data to combat fraud. Musk’s moves have sparked legal challenges and concerns over conflicts of interest.
