NEW: Elon Musk Has Dinner With Trump, Teases ‘Amazing’ 2026 Midterm Campaign

Tech billionaire Elon Musk sat down for dinner with President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump at the President’s Mar-A-Lago estate on Saturday night, signaled continued warm relations between the two powerful leaders after a summer feud.

Videos and photos from the event captured the trio entering the dining room to enthusiastic applause from guests, with Musk trailing closely behind the president and first lady as they greeted attendees.

In an X post, Musk expressed his gratitude to the president and the first lady for the meeting and hinted at increased involvement in the 2026 midterm elections. “2026 is going to be amazing,” he wrote, alongside a photo of the dinner table.

This gathering aligns with reports that the world’s richest man is preparing a major financial push to support Republican candidates in the 2026 midterm elections, potentially providing a significant boost to GOP efforts to maintain and expand congressional majorities.

Insiders report that Musk has already made substantial donations to key Republican campaign committees and super PACs focused on House and Senate races. Sources told Axios that he plans to increase his contributions as the cycle heats up, positioning himself as a traditional mega-donor channeling funds directly to party-aligned groups.

Musk’s renewed commitment comes after a turbulent 2025 that saw him initially serve as co-head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), only to depart amid sharp disagreements over President Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill Act.”

The rift escalated publicly, with Musk criticizing the bill’s fiscal impact, briefly mentioning ties to controversial figures, and even threatening to launch a third party—the “America Party” to primary incumbents who supported it. Those third-party plans, which once aimed at contesting a handful of seats to influence contentious votes, have since been shelved.

Reports suggest that Vice President JD Vance played a pivotal role in brokering peace, including through a November dinner attended by Musk, Vance, White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, and others involved in political fundraising.

Musk has expressed interest in potentially backing Vance in future races, further solidifying his return to the GOP fold.In the 2024 cycle, Musk emerged as the largest individual donor in U.S. history, contributing over $290 million—mostly to support Trump’s presidential victory and down-ballot Republicans.

His 2026 involvement could prove equally transformative, especially in a midterm environment where Republicans defend narrow majorities against Democratic challenges. With control of Congress at stake, Musk’s resources and influence via X could amplify GOP messaging on key issues like border security, government spending, and election integrity.

On New Year’s Day, Musk reinforced his stance by reposting claims of going “all-in” on Republican funding with a stark warning “America is toast if the radical left wins. They will open the floodgates to illegal immigration and fraud. Won’t be America anymore,” he said.

Exact donation figures for 2026 remain undisclosed until upcoming Federal Election Commission filings, but the early commitments underscore Musk’s strategic pivot back to the Republican ecosystem.
