NEW: Elon Musk Signals Potential Reversal On Big Beautiful Bill Opposition

Tech entrepreneur Elon Musk suggested Friday that he may indeed end up supporting the Trump-backed “Big Beautiful Bill” after a week of vehement opposition to the legislation and a public feud with President Trump.

Musk — who has contended that the bill does not do enough to reduce the federal deficit and eliminate waste, fraud and abuse — indicated that a statement from Senator Adam Schiff (D-CA) was perhaps a bridge too far in an X post on Friday night.

“I can’t believe I’m saying this – but @elonmusk is right,” the far-left senator wrote in an X post of his own. Without providing specifics, the staunch “Green New Deal” advocate claimed the bill is “filled with all sorts of hidden and dangerous far-right pork.” The post was largely met with mockery, with many X users pointing out that Schiff has never had a problem with voting in favor of hefty spending bills in the past.

“Has anyone called you a dip***t today? If not, you’re a dip***t who belongs in prison,” said one X user in response to Schiff’s post. Musk then weighed in on the reply, saying, “Hmm, few things could convince me to reconsider my position more than Adam Schiff agreeing with me!”

Musk did share a few additional posts suggesting that he still has issues with the bill, though the Friday night post marked the first time the former Trump ally indicated that he may indeed lend his support to the bill.

Just days after Musk’s temporary government position with the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) initiative conduced, the tech billionaire set the internet on fire by labeling the bill as a “disgusting abomination” that does little to reduce the deficit. He then proceeded to make a number of antagonistic posts directed towards the president, House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) and others by pulling up old posts about the deficit.

The situation exploded on Thursday, when President Trump suggested at a press conference that Musk frequently clashed with cabinet members and “went crazy” due to the revocation of electric vehicle subsidies in the bill. Axios had reported that Musk had a direct altercation with Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, and privately lobbied against the president’s tariffs behind the scenes.

Musk went on to claim that Trump is “on the Epstein list” — a claim that has long been vehemently denied by prominent Epstein victims, prosecutors and attorneys who worked on the case — and called for the president’s impeachment.

While speaking with reporters aboard Air Force One on Friday, Trump stated that he wishes Musk well, but is not particularly focused on the feud. When asked whether he would consider talking with him in the near future, the president indicated that he is primarily concerned with resolving conflicts with Russia and Iran, as well as passing the Big Beautiful Bill, and was not concerned with Musk’s outburst.

He did praise the former DOGE leader for his efforts, however, and stressed that the federal government will continue to cut waste, fraud and abuse throughout his four-year term.
