NEW: FBI’s Next Target After Bolton Raid Revealed

Former Department of Homeland Security official Miles Taylor seemingly signaled over the weekend that he might be the next target of President Donald Trump’s FBI, following the raid last week on ex-national security adviser John Bolton’s home in D.C. last Friday. Taylor, who served during Trump’s first term, was asked by MSNBC’s Jonathan Capehart about the raid and whether he is concerned about future moves made by the administration.

“Yeah, we expect it. I mean, really, we expect it,” he said to Capehart. “And that’s what is so surreal about this is we can all hear as we’re talking about this, be so certain of the president’s revenge campaign to know potentially who that next target might be or one of those next targets.”

The former aide replied, “I mean, when my wife and I woke up and saw the news, she basically said to me, ‘it’s coming.'”

On Friday, the FBI confirmed that “court-authorized law enforcement activity” was conducted in the area where Bolton’s home is located in Bethesda, Maryland. Reports revealed that the search was related to the former national security adviser’s handling of classified information.

Taylor previously said that the president kept a “blacklist” of individuals he planned to go after.

“Folks don’t have to play the violin for John Bolton or Miles Taylor. Maybe they don’t like either of us. That’s fine, because it’s not about us,” he said during the panel. “It’s about the criminal justice system that all Americans expect to be able to treat them fairly.”

“It’s a president of the U.S. weaponizing the tools of his office to reshape our society. And he’s doing that. He’s making sure the scales of justice tip in his favor,” he said, going on to add later, “There’s no telling where this could go next.”

President Trump spoke with reporters at the White House last Friday and said he was not notified ahead of time concerning the raid on Bolton’s home. However, he did say he expected to be briefed on what was found later in the day.

Bolton has criticized Trump on numerous occasions concerning foreign policy decisions he’s made as commander-in-chief. He was also called as a witness for testimony in the president’s first impeachment trial during his first term in office.

Vice President JD Vance defended the FBI’s raid on Bolton during an interview on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” which aired on Sunday, providing pushback against allegations that the raid was a form of revenge.
